Just started this game and stuck already.

I have red dye, water in cup, paper bag, pruning shears and fur from chia Llama.
How do I get the shaving foam?
I have been in restaurant and around to the back of restaurant and I assume I have to use the paper bag on the customer but I have to inflate it first.

you have to like crank the handle on the llama chair the guy sits on. i clicked on it 10 times and went over and just took the cream. im still stuck on the red eyes.

as for the llama eating plant, if you go into the tent, you see something in there that can help you make a decoy.

It's spelt AXE.

I have activation card for the gas pump but its missing a seal, at one point I had the Barons cup which might have had a seal on it but now I don't have that cup anymore, was the seal on that? I have watered the mulberry bush and I have the other ingredients, all I need is some gas

the seal is in the book i believe. read it and maybe try to combine it? you have to ask the guy who wrote the book about the seal too.

How did you get the hot sause ?

you have to turn on the geyser somehow then go back out to it and will be able to get it.

you have to adjust scale, use the knife. Tell him to weigh himself again. Ã, Then you can take the powder. Go back to where the contests are, turn on the tap and while man is turning it off put the powder in his drink of water. You should be able to win the yodeling contest.
I still have to figure out all the other stuff too, I had thought of using log that the termites had been in to try and make clogging shoes but now that you have tried that I know thats not right. So much for that idea lol.We probably have to get the good log where the axe is for the clogging shoes. I can't get net either, I tried swapping the shotput ball but that didn't work.

I've got two thoughts about the pie. Ã, One is that there's a secret door somewhere -- some pixel that, if you click on it, you come out the other door up there next to Helga. Ã, The other is that, when you get the tennis ball, you can throw that to get the pie. Ã, I'm suspecting that the "replacing the tennis ball with a shot put" is a good idea, because I've managed to dye my shot put green, and it's now the same color as the tennis ball. Ã, But it lacks the stripe that the tennis ball has. Ã, I'm wondering if a bandage or something from the first aid kit might make an appropriate line, but the first aid kit is for "injured guests only," and it seems possible that the idea is that the pie, which is "something red" is supposed to fall on your head in order to make you LOOK injured. Ã, So, IF the tennis ball is the way to get the pie, then the pie's not the way to get the tennis ball. Ã, And if the pie's the way to get the tennis ball, the tennis ball's not the way to get the pie. Ã, Dunno, really.

Look at the sign that's at the beginning of town. Then, 'talk' to the area. It appears you need a STRONGER voice to create an avalanche....(I haven't gotten further). Maybe this is how the pie will fall....

This game is addicting lol. [I just won clogging contest but thats interesting theory about avalanche and getting pie. Did you read Xiphias's ideas too, lot of ideas there too. I also had not dyed shotput green, have to figure out how to do that [/spoiler]

Okay, I'm stuck in Kierkollamagaarde. Ã, I've got some suspicions of what I'm supposed to do, but I'm pretty much stuck on how to go about doing it. . .

Spoilers for many things I've done so far, and much speculation:

First, supposition about the long-range goal. Ã, I suspect that the point is to get Frieda to sound the Yetimancer alarm, which should set of an avalanche, and bury the baron. Ã, In order to do that, I suspect I need to dress up as a giant yeti, which will probably require the stilts, and the yeti-skin coat.

Anyway, I suspect that one gets the stilts by getting the cuckoo clock working, which may knock over the stilt walker. And one gets the cuckoo clock working by getting the clock winder married to Helga, which one gets by giving Helga a jar of pickled herring. Ã, I've got the pickles, and I can see the fish. Ã, But I can't get any fish. Ã, Perhaps I need things from the "snowshoe path".

I've won two contests in the Leiderhoedown, but can't figure out how to win a drinking contest when I'm underage. Ã, If I can do that, that should get me the coat.

I suspect that swapping the shot put for the tennis ball might help get the tennis ball and the tennis rackets, which I suspect may be usable as snowshoes. Ã, But, although I've dyed the shot put green, I've not managed to put a tennis-ball like stripe on it.

I also have a feeling that I might be able to use Helga's pie to fake an injury in order to use the first aid kit. Ã, No idea what's in there or if anything would be useful.

So: the things I'm working on:
1. Putting a stripe on a shot put
2. Finding a way up to Helga
3. Finding a way to get fish
4. Winning an underage drinking contest.

Any thoughts? Ã, Anything I'm missing?

It's finicky. Ã, The doors are small targets and hard to hit. Ã, But I'd suspect that, if you got in once, you can do it again.

I didn't pull the rope, and I finished the game anyway.  It may be a red herring.  'Cause the actual red herring isn't a red herring, so. . . . or it may be an easter egg or something like that.  In any case, I didn't bother and did okay.

As for the control panel: I don't KNOW exactly how I solved it, but I did.  One thing I noticed is that it's symmetrical, and I kind of kept, if I pressed one button, I pressed the button diagonally opposite it.  Usually.  Kinda.  And then, I suddenly noticed that I'd managed to get the lights into a checkerboard kind of pattern.  And from there I managed to get all the lights on.  Which was bad, because I was trying to get all the lights OFF.  So I somehow managed to get the lights back to the checkerboard kind of pattern, and then somehow managed to get all the lights off.  But I don't know exactly how.  I kind of zoned out and some other part of my brain took over and solved it.

I suppose that's not real helpful.  But I remember that that other part of my brain WAS thinking that symmetry helped it solve the puzzle, although I'm not exactly clear on WHY it thinks that it helped. . . .

That's right.  For what it's worth, I went back to the saved game where I started playing with that, and I solved it again.

And I STILL don't know how I solved it.  But I know it's doable, although very, very frustrating.

Click your secondary mouse button.  See if that helps move things along.

I just can't seem to get through the control panel part, I have been clicking on those buttons for ages, is there much more to the game after that? because I think I am ready to give up at the control panel.

Don't give up!  You're almost there!  The control panel is the last puzzle in the game.  Once you've got the control panel unlocked -- with all the lights OFF -- you've almost won.

So don't give up!  It CAN be solved.  I've done it.  But it's very annoying, and not at all easy.  But I have faith in you!  You can do it!

I tried hard to try and solve some of the things by myself, others I came in here and re-read other peoples questions.  However, I am at the point where I have to catch the fish to get picked herring,(they are swimming too fast, need the stilts I guess for the yeti costume, need a louder voice and have not done the drinking contest yet either which I suppose is not yet.  I spray the cat, but that is not doing anything.  Please give me just a hint as to what I am suppose to do first........Thank you

Okay.  So I can assume you've picked up the tennis rackets AND the net from the tennis court.  You also will need the tennis ball.

"Winning the drinking contest" and "slowing down the fish" both require the same item.  And it's an item in the first aid kit in the gym.  You need to make yourself look injured so you can get to the first aid kit.  And there is a pie whose flavor is not relevant, but it IS red. . .

Stuck at the light panel.....Too bad, I can't do it.  And it was such a great game.  I would have liked to see the ending......

Well Rosie, looks like you and I are stuck at the same place, I just can't do it either. We need somebody to send us a saved game so that we can finish it.

My advice:
Just do a lot of random clicking around.
That's the way I just finished it. I tried finding out a pattern, but didn't find any. And you shouldn't bother with it anyway... just click here and there and somewhen that panel will curse you!
It's an extremely frustrating "puzzle", and I too almost gave up on it.

2. To know whether you need to press a button or not, check its own light and the neighbouring lights. If an odd number of these 5 lights are switched on, then the button needs to be pressed, otherwise it does not.

The following solution then suggests itself:

a. Use fact 2 above on all the buttons in the middle two rows.
b. For each light that is on in row 2, press the button above it in row 1.
c. For each light that is on in row 3, press the button below it in row 4.

A light's neighbors are the lights immediately above, below, left, and right of it:

For example...

B2's neighbors are B1, A2, B3, and C2.

Awesome! Ã, I figured out what Greg was saying, about how the lights puzzle works! Ã, And I can now solve it easily, and consistently, with very little trouble!

Let me see if I can explain how. Ã, I teach third-grade Sunday school, so maybe my teaching experience will help. . . .

Let's start by explaining how the puzzle works. Ã, You've got a four-by-four grid of buttons. Ã, That's sixteen buttons.

Every time you press a button, that button toggles. Ã, That means, if it's on, it turns off, and if it's off, it turns on. Ã, Also, the buttons above, below, to the left, and to the right ALSO toggle.

So, every time that you press a button, five buttons toggle -- that one, up, down, left, and right.

Well, what happens if you press a button that's all the way at the top? Ã, What button is "up" from there? Ã, It wraps around: the very BOTTOM row is ABOVE the very top row. So it wraps around: if you press a button on the very LEFT side, the button on the very RIGHT side also toggles.

With me so far?

So, here's the neat thing. Ã, If you press a button, and then press the buttons UP, DOWN, LEFT, and RIGHT of that button, all of a sudden, the board looks exactly like it did before you pressed that button, except that first button is now off! Ã, I don't know exactly why it works that way, but it does. Ã, I could probably work it out if I had the time, but the important thing is that it DOES work that way.

So, you're looking at the board. Ã, And you've got a bunch of lights lit up. Ã, So, you choose one button that's already lit. Ã, You press that button, then you press the buttons that are up, down, left, and right of that button, and now, you've got a board with one FEWER lights lit up than when you started. Ã, So you go to the next light that's lit, and you press that button, and then you press the buttons that are up, down, left, and right of that button, and you've got one fewer light that's lit.

Repeat until done.

yes you have to use shotput in the green barrel to dye it green. Oh I just realised what you might not be doing when you said you clicked and nothing happened. You have to walk up to that area first, I did the same thing, clicked on him and nothing happened and then realised that I had to walk up there lol

I've had freeze-up issues in that room, but dealing with the weightlifter.  Fortunately, for me, they were intermittent and not frequent, so I was able to just go back to a previous saved game, and do the same thing over again, and it didn't freeze. 

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions.  I have updated the game based on your input.  (Definitely don't re-download it, though, as the changes are mostly cosmetic.)

* Changed the spray paint color from red to blue, so that players won't be misled on the rabies puzzle.
* Changed the botanical gardens so that you can't get the llama past the plant until you've assuaged it.
* Added a call to StopMoving() during the temple section of the introduction to prevent it from crashing on some machines.

Although that puzzle nearly drove me insane (Greg, you should be glad you weren't around!  ;) *lol*), I really wouldn't suggest to eliminate the whole thing. At the least it would cost an incredible punch line.
I'd prefer a combination of 2. and 3., providing an insta-solve feature after several tries (perhaps 5 times).

One of my friends said that, when he attempted to swap the Zeroith edition for the Baron's First edition, it just kept the Zeroith edition in his inventory. Ã, This is a bug, and it's intermittent. Ã, Just go back to a previous saved game and try again, and it might well work.

Crap, this is definitely a bug.  I didn't account for the scenario that someone would dispense with the baron before swapping the book.  I'll fix this and post the updated version.  (Don't redownload, though, as the current version should work fine as long as you swap the book first.)

Ida, you are sure having your share of problems with this game aren't you, I think you must be jinxed LOL. The yodel contest was straight forward for me. I had one little bug with this game but it was very minor.

I had a couple of probs too but found if I went back and did things in a different order it worked.  Hope you manage to complete it

Apparently, the script waits for a given music file to play, so, if you had no sound card or had disabled background music, it would wait forever.  I fixed this in the most recent version.

I just located the bug and fixed it for the most recent version.  If you're using a previous version, as a work around, press CTRL-ALT-DEL, and then re-open the game from the task bar, and it should unfreeze.

Technical Explanation: Whenever Jessica reaches for an object, the reaching animation blocks on the sound effect of her picking something up.  Unfortunately, the reaching was blocking on the bodybuilder's jump roping sound.  I changed the jump roping to an ambient sound, though, so all should work as normal.

the idea is that you have to turn all the lights off. 

first click on a light to turn it off and then click the four surrounding lights - top bottom and either side of the one you just clicked off (don't worry if lights come on and off at this stage), continue doing this till you have turned all the lights off.  Remembering that when you turn one of the lights off on the outside edges that the lights are carried round the other side.

For example if you turn off light in the top left hand corner then you must also click on the one below, the one to the right of it, the one in the top right hand corner and also the one in the bottom left hand corner.

Hope this make sense

Thank you so much. I finally got the light puzzle done. After completing it, I wondered why I had such a hard time because it really turned out to be easy.

I really enjoyed this game and am sad that it has ended. Hope to see more like it

Technical Explanation: For changing the volume of background music, AGS offers SetMusicMasterVolume().  Unfortunately, this function cannot silence (or amplify) music entirely, as it's dependent on the room-based SetMusicVolume().  To workaround this, I used SetChannelVolume() to control the volume of background music via the channel that plays it.  As you discovered, though, whenever a character speaks, it resets this channel.  (I'm not sure why, since speech plays on channel 2, and background music on channel 0.  Hopefully, the people in the technical forum can help me out.)

I think you have to get the yodelling book from the receptionist, after you talk to the guy on stilts and he tells you he has a package or something being delivered, then go back to receptionist and see if you can ask her if there is something for you to pick up or something like that, she will ask you for identification but you don't need it. I don't remember this part too well so I hope this is right.

you don't need to pull the rope. If you have blown up the gate looks like you now at the lights out puzzle. Go through gate and click on the control panel and GOOD LUCK  You will find all kinds of hints in this thread to complete the puzzle

I'm sure the answer to this question has been answered already, but if I remember right,  you put the magnet on the horn then ask the ninja to hit the cheese and he misses and it hits the horn, I hope this is right.

Apparently, the script waits for a given music file to play, so, if you had no sound card or had disabled background music, it would wait forever.Ã,  I fixed this in the most recent version.

there is a hints file two posts before yours, have you checked there?  Are you taking the Llama to the guy in the bathroom in the Cafe Urban, you have to ask him to have it spritzed with Eau de Llama, is that what you are doing?

I have llama hair and cup, pruning shears, paper bag, liquor and the axe but have no idea what to do next. I know I have to get the llama to travel the road in back of the restaurant but not sure how to go about it?

Yes I did view the hint file but it looks like just a grouping of the different rooms within the phases. There is no hint there that is useful to me in regards to what to do next. I still can't find the dye and need the cream.

mags_don, I'm having real trouble getting the cream. If I try and crank the handle while the guy is sitting in the chair Jessica says, "I don't want to disturb him." If I try to crank it while he is still at the counter, nothing happens. Help, I am stuck!

it does tell you on those hints how to get the shaving foam, you have to crank the lever on the chair about 7 times, then ask guy for demonstration

Where is the foam supposed to appear? I did as you said, cranked the lever 7 times or more and asked the guy for a demonstration but nothing happened. What am I missing?

as for the llama eating plant, if you go into the tent, you see something in there that can help you make a decoy.

Are you talking about the illama that looks egyptian and can open? I can't pick that up.

You are really having a hard time aren't you lol. I don't think you are looking at that hint file properly, did you click on the different subjects because they open other subjects. All the answers are in there, because I have just looked at it. There is even two maps there. Go to part one, click on Llamaland, see if you have done everything in there, then go to Botanical Gardens and click on that one, in there it will tell you what you are supposed to with the egyptian llama.

I think what you should be doing next is trying to get the llama away from the zookeeper, she doesn't like rabies, so you have to do 3 things to make the llama look like it has rabies, you need 3 things, make its eyes red, agressive behaviour and foaming at the mouth. You already have the foam if you managed to get shaving foam, you need cooking sherry which you get from the kitchen, and 
There's a recording of llama mating calls inside the Hall of Llama History...
But the llama can't hear them from outside.
Have you noticed the speakers at the Petting Zoo?
They feed into the stereo in the Hall of Llama History.
As do the speakers from the Llama Mating Calls station.
Rearrange the wires on the stereo so that the llama mating calls are diverted to the outside speakers.
Then, press the button in the Petting Zoo to play the music.
The llama will act aggressive as long as the mating calls are playing.

Joyce, yes as usual you got it figured out. I'd like to be as good at these games as you are some day. Anyway, I'm in the 3 rd part now and can't figure out one thing. I need to learn how to yodel. The furrier needs Jessica to prove to him that she is serious. What can I do for him? That way I can finish the contest and win the prize(I've already won the clogging and schnaptz competition.

Believe me I haven't figured it out on my own, I am looking at the hints file for you because I actually forget all what you have to do in this game.

Can anyone give me some hints as how to solve that lighted puzzle at the end, the one on the control panel at the Barons factory. Its driving me crazy... :-[ Maybe someone has found a trick that works for them.

I have not found any threads in the hints that explain where to find red spray paint, or dye. I've got the blue spray paint... but that's it. I am trying to open set the geyser off, but can't get the turtles out of the water pipe to turn the valve and release the water... any suggestions?

Well, I figured it out on my own. The hints in this forum suggest the dye must be a "red" dye, however that is not the case. For anybody else having troubles opening the valve:

Select the can of BLUE spray paint that you got at the very beginning of the game from your inventory and put it into the opening of the water pipe where the turtles are. Next, select the ninja star from your inventory (you would have gotten that from the ninja) and aim it at the blue spray paint). This will blow up the turtles and you can turn the valve on.

Well, my apologies regarding my last statement. In reading through the hints, I see Greg changed the game... apparently the die USED to be red, but he later changed it to blue to avoid confusion regarding the rabies.

Thought I should clarify that for anybody else reading the hints, and confused about the red dye.  :)
