KQII the second time-2 questions

I started over when the vampire showed up in the swamp. I figured that meant I was doomed. Now I want to know if I can talk to people as much
as I want to or if I need to get a move on. Should  I be in a hurry to get through the swamp this time? I am killing the wolves right now.

There are no dead ends in the game, even when you are confronted in the swamp, if you don't have the items needed thay are available to you then. you can defeat the wearwolf in the swamp. you may need to make a weapon, notice the reeds near the water & possibly the water itself
