Hi All,

I've been enjoying KQ 3 Redux, but I am stuck now. I had solved the original game, but some things are different here.

So, I am missing the Fish Oil for the spell that will turn the big bad guy into a cat. In the original version you had to get the money from the bandit's hide out. You just slipped your hand into the tree hole, the ladder would come down, you climbed it and you got your gold.
It does not allow you to do so in Redux, since Alexandre doesn't want to stick his hand in the whole. I suppose, he first has to overhear the bandits talking while turned into a fly, but I cannot find the fly wing. In the original game it was just on the floor of Manannan's observatory. It is not here and I have no idea where to find it. There is a tree filled with bees, and I though to check there, but I can't seem to find anything there.
Any help is appreciated.

thank you!

Go up to the room with the telescope (several times). Eventually, the cat will be there and kill the fly.

septimus

thank you. I tried doing that, but nothing happened. I am trying again... still nothing happens. Do I have to wait there or it just spawns randomly every time I go in?

sthomannch

You don't have to wait. If the cat is not there when you enter the room you can go back or restore. Perhaps you should try a bit later in the game.

I kept trying and did not work. I restarted the game, 2nd attempt it was there. And finished it now. I have no idea what the whole thing about the curse is about, but I enjoyed it :p

Creating potions...

Spoiler

Trying to create the eagle flight potion too.  Where do I get the feather?  The eagle flew over my head while I was out in the desert, but I didn't see the feather fall at that time.

Also WHERE is the mandrake and the mud?

EDIT:
Okay got the feather, I can't believe I missed that!  I also got the mandrake and dealt with Manannan  But I'm still overlooking the mud?!

Spoiler
There's 4 blue books down at bottom right of the bookshelf.  Click on those.   :)
However, there's a few levers you have to pull, and I can't figure which order to pull them in.   ???

If you are in possession of any "forbidden" items, the cat will not kill the fly.  This is a bug that should be fixed in an updated version eventually.

OK, I'm in a good mood so I will help you out.

The cat won't kill the fly in the observatory until you have been into town and seen the bandits in the bar.

So when the pain in the ass is asleep, go into town and go into the bar.

The bandits will be there. Try talking to them and then return to the mansion. The cat will now be in the observatory playing with a fly.

This should solve your problem.

Enjoy the game ;)

You need to go to the library in two to get the solution to the lever problem.

Even when you have the necessary info it is going to take a few attempts before you figure it out.

OK one last thing, once you have finished Kings Quest III redux and IF you have played all the other Kings Quests Games google

Kings Quest - The Silver Lining.

It is the final game in the Kings Quest series and has a huge following.

Of course if you thought Kings Quest III was difficult but that's another matter entirely

Happy questing . . .

Seen the cat exterminate the fly several times in various playthroughs never having left the house.

You don't have to leave the house, for the cat to kill the fly.   :)
