Help on Bog's Underworld Part 2

I'm stuck on part 2 of Bog's Adventure in the Underworld.  I haven't been able to get back to the main level since I looked at the moon.  I am endlessly walking between the screen with the sea cucumber in the bubble and the end of mountain with the face where I can look at the moon again and I get back to the same place.  Can anyone help?

I've tried the walkthrough and can't find the answer in the thread.  The walkthrough only gives answers to specific puzzles and this isn't one of them.

Its so hard to remember because its been a while since I played this game

  have you talked to the worms and answered in a certain sequence? and have you walked left and looked through the weeds and climbed the pedestal and done all that stuff with Kilroy that the walkthrough says to do? As far as I can remember there should be a hook hanging down that you can use to get back up. I do remember at some point the hook gives you two options a normal tug and a big tug and each one takes you to a different place.
