Someone please help!!!  I really like the game, but I need to get some sleep too    
I have the lemon, occult book, dog whistle, been hypnotized, talked to indian woman, and exhausted the notebook in the library.
I need to get the doc to leave the office so I can look in the filing cabinet...how in the heck can I do this.  Thanks in advance.

I don't understand your question.  How do you know that you have some of the recipe ingredients and not know what other ingredients you need?  Have you found the book in the library?
