I'm currently in the cave/temple and Anubis is telling me he needs to get something out of the snake's mouth??? I've tried using every inventory item on all hotspots I can find, which aren't many in this screen. Can't progress further.

If you hang the coat you should activate the mugs. Look at them, interact with them and search for ingredients
As a general hint, you may need to do things to make other things happen...

I made the coffee and gave it to my friend. I tried to search the bookshelf, but nothing happened. I talk to the friend, and I just keep saying that I'm going to make the coffee. What am I missing?

Interact with the bookcase at its middle-right. It should make you wish something and then another person appears. Try to pick up a few things from the house, wherever they are available, because you 'll need them much later in the game

I keep saying I'm going to the store. I have the coat and handbag.. and looked in the handbag and got a bunch of stuff, but I can't leave or do anything else.

interact with the door . You'll find out it's locked(!) and you'll get a key during the dialogue...
In general, when you are stuck, look if you enabled anything with your last actions...
I posted a walkthrough, but no one seems to have discovered itÃ, and I thinkI like it!!! ;)

Did the hotspot appear when you hovered your mouse over teh door?Did Jack talk to you? He should give you a key. When you interact the door , at the hotspot of course, a dialogue should run and you get a big yellow key

Jack didn't give me a key. I used all of the dialogue options, and all he said was that he was hungry and then I said I was going to the store. There is no hotspot above the door.
Oh, OK, but promise you'll try it the hard way first!!!

Can somone help? I made it to the desert, built the shelter, the sun went down, I found the well and I believe I filled the box with water. How do I get out of the desert? It keeps saying I ran out of water and I can't refill the box. Where is the walkthrough? What do I do next?

You have to boil the water. Did you look at the box? You have to look at it, so it is empty when you want to fill it. Then pick up som escrub and use the flint

You don't pick them up, they just activate other hotspots. You have to work inside your inventory

Cut the loaf from its base, then take the spare loaf and combine it with the "gods' heart". Make sure you have the hookÃ, from the pool hieroglyph(use the knife on it) before you continue

He mentions a book. Look at the bookcase and "open" the book. Look in it and take what's inside. Then go to the map.
Thanks CP for trying to help. I found the Chinese map but can't figure what to do next. I supposed to find a chinese moon I guess but I cannot go outside of the house. Any hints?

Go to the game's map and visit the new location. After you talk to the woman at the cinema, the game takes you to another location
