How do I fix the joystick on the game pad?

How do I get to that stage? I've been exploring the house and picked up a mug, shampoo, nail polish and cheesy stuff.

I always lose small items under the carpet...
I've given to Lucy's brother the drink. He has no more orders, he's not giving the diary back... I can't find out how to move on.

i must be missing something because david hasn't asked me to do anything yet. i tried to nuke the macaroni but it says i have noo need to do that now, i have the shampoo, nail polish, mug, key and playboy
i did realize that i wanted to write in my diary, in fact i even thought i could find roger's number in it, but i can't find the diary :'(

That's because you did not realise all Lucy wanted to go home and write her diary... so go and write her diary ;) Well I admit you could miss that fact, but it was my first game, next time I will make it even more obvious, I promise.
