draft drifter

Help! 
Has anyone played "The Draft Drifter Who Ditched Doctor Dunno"? I have the mineral, coconut, and liana, (vine). I have put the plank over the chasm. I also got the note in a bottle. I have three problems:
1) What do I do with the hole in the altar? I have tried everything.
2) How do I move the rock, (in the scene above the sandcastle)?
3) What type of aid do I need to climb down the steps from the second chasm?
