Aaron's something or other

I just got out of the cave and I'm still a sheep, and when I try to use the book on Aaron, it gives me an error message and closes out the game.  Is there any way to fix this?

I can't really remember but I think you have to go see the wizard first

Nope, I go to the wizard and all he says is "Go Away Sheep" and stuff like that.  

I really think the book has to be used on Aaron but it messes up the game so I'm wondering if I should just give up and move on.

Sorry it has been so long since I've played this game but I remember there was a bug in it................Look at the spellbook instead of using it - this may help
