need help for 2 games: Apocalypse Meow and The Strange Day

Being a beginner at these games, I need help developing my instincts.. or rather need help in preserving my sanity.

Apocalypse meow: got the manup on my shoulders with the rope, and then I'm faced with 278965 kittens outside. What should I do next?

The strange day: am at the beginning with no key for my bike, got a book and a stuck bedside drawer, any pointers?

Any attempt at the preservation of my sanity and sleep is greatly welcomed and very much appreciated!
