Hmmm... I've tried talking to all of them, but they won't talk to me, and I've tried giving them everything I have in my inventory... nothing works.   I'm frazzled!

Spoiler
Speak with the bartender about the guy sitting at the bar. You might have to walk into the next room first, and then return to the main inn room.

Ok, there's obviously an item that I'm missing, because all the bartender says is:

Spoiler
that he wants to slip something into the guy's drink, but I don't have anything like that.

Ugh... I'm not doing so hot at this game.  How do I find:

Spoiler
The chainmail helmet.  I found all the other things to give the night, and I think it has something to do with the fish skin that I have... but I've tried everything I can think of!

Title: Re:Neverquest
Post by: big brother on Wed 17/03/2004 23:15:48
Wow, this is weird.
Spoiler
I tried giving the tooth to the blacksmith but nothing happens. Not even a defualt "He won't want that" interaction. When I talk to the apprentice mage, he never says anything about needing any gold. How can players be expected to solve puzzles without any in-game direction?

Title: Re:Neverquest
Post by: JD on Thu 18/03/2004 07:17:55
Spoiler
The apprentice mage will only ask for the gold when you've asked him to make a hangover remedy, which you can only ask after you've woken up sir Lunchalot. The blacksmith will only turn the tooth into a lump after you've asked the mage to make you the remedy.

I'm at the same stage as Fluse.  Also I can't get the Mage to talk about the potion and the wizard only says "Please leave now".  How DO you get into that room?

How i wake Sir Lunchalot up?
Title: Re:Neverquest
Post by: on Fri 19/03/2004 20:06:12
Have a look at your inventory and think how you'd usually go about waking a drunk person - or any person who's out of it for that matter....
Title: Re:Neverquest
Post by: Oneiro_Farseer on Fri 19/03/2004 20:38:49
Well in that case I'd assume it was
Spoiler
throwing water over him, (although I did try to light the feather to wave it under his nose)
[close]
but that didn't work for me. This means that I either
(a) Have the wrong idea
(b) Am trying to wake up the wrong bloke(!), or
(c) There's a bug in the game...

I suspect a or b   ::)

tvcooper2001: The bird you need is in the place you get your adventurers license.

Tina: There's a bug in the game at this point - you should be able to just give the blacksmith the coins, but sometimes it doesn't work. You'll have to restart, I'm afraid...  :'(

You don't necessarily need grape juice - just something that looks like grape juice...

Yes, you do need to get the bird.  8)

You need to distract the man on the left (can't remember his name ^^).

Hint:

Solution:

Title: Re:Neverquest
Post by: big brother on Mon 22/03/2004 22:14:35
Speaking of feathers, I'm still trying to wake up that drunk knight at the inn after I knocked his tooth out... Any ideas besides "looking at your inventory"?
Title: Re:Neverquest
Post by: on Mon 22/03/2004 23:00:06
big brother,

Spoiler
After you get your liscense,  you willl need to go to the guild hideout.   There you will be told to find Lunchalot.  Go back to bar and talk to bar tender.   He will give you the key to the upstairs room where Lunchalot is "asleep"
[close]

Now ... as for me,  I am still stuck at getting the helmet!!! I have started over and still cannot give coins to black smith.
Title: Re:Neverquest
Post by: Oneiro_Farseer on Tue 23/03/2004 08:17:41
Try solving each puzzle in order, only picking up items when they become necessary. That way, you should be able to avoid triggering the bug.  :)
Title: Re:Neverquest
Post by: ida on Tue 23/03/2004 14:56:20
I'm also having trouble waking Sir Lunchalot up.

Spoiler
Tried to punch him, but it did nothing. I have the feather and bottle with poison in it and I've tried to use both to wake him.
[close]

Is there an item that I've yet to collect? ???
Title: Re:Neverquest
Post by: Oneiro_Farseer on Tue 23/03/2004 16:59:23
You need to throw water over him. If you have the poison already, you should be able to empty it out and refill the bottle with water - except in my game, the bottle kept staying full.  >:( Not sure if this bug always occurs or whether I triggered it somehow - you might be luckier than me!  ;)

I had to restart the game to get the bottle of water, but I'm further on now thanks to you! :)

Oh, I've just read in earlier posts about a tooth.

I've woken Sir Lunchalot up, but please don't tell me I'd to get a tooth out of him before this!
Title: Re:Neverquest

Nope, it's alright, the tooth comes from someone else.  ;)

my computer crashed. In a sense of the word, I guess. "FROZE" is more like it. I've tried it over and over again, even from past saved games and it does that same thing. *sigh* I was sort of looking forward to finishing this game, but there doesn't seem to be a way. Anyone else found any other bugs?

I am totally stuck!   :-[

I have read all the above 'hints' and I am still stuck.

I must have missed something important so that all I am trying to do is useless.

I have knife, 8 coins, fresh fish, seimitar, broken arrow, feather, licence, bottle with water, gold tooth.

I'm going around in circle, I go from the inn, the guild rooms, smith, scout, apprentice, guards, tower, and I talk to everyone, look, use, I just cannot get ahead.  I am sure I missed something but I do not know what and where I missed it.

You talk about Sir Lunchalot,  the bird for the scout (I know where it is but what do you do with it?)  grape juice ? I showed my licence to bartender but he does not give me a key.....

Then someone says: 'Try solving each puzzle in order, only picking up items when they become necessary.  That way you should be able to avoid triggering the bug...'

How do you know why items to pick up first and solving puzzles as you go along if you don't know where you're going.

I tell you, I am completely lost......

I really need help. or I should say HELP!!!!!!!! :'( :'(

I read in the 'hints'

Hi, Sunshinegold!

Well, it's true: the bug is ...
Spoiler

when you give your 8 coins to smith in exchange for a cardboard helmet made by his son, you can't. And without the helmet, you can't progress in the game...
[close]
I had to restart (just reload didn't work, the bug was still there), and get the items ONLY when the game or a character, or else, demand them: it seems that an item (it seems nobody know which) triggers the bug, so the only chance is to start again.
By the way, I already wrote a walkthru, it'll be soon available at http://asgagames.com/agswalkthroughs , I hope...
Title: Re: Neverquest
Post by: Primus on Tue 11/05/2004 16:22:50
To talk to the guards...

Spoiler

you must use the license with one of them; so then you can talk to them, ie, interact with them. And the "grape juice" must be given just when the guard on right asks for it.

HI Primus,

Your walkthru is not available yet.  As I mentioned in my last post,  it's fine to pick up things as you go along, but you can go to so many places, so it is very hard without a walkthru to follow the game and only go and pick up things in a sequence.

Since you wrote a walkthru, which means you completed the game, could you help me out.  Even if I did restart the game, I would probably get stuck again, over and over.

Let me know where I went wrong and what, if anything, I am missing.

Thanks

Hi again, Sunshinegold!

Yes, I completed it. I managed to upload the walkthru file right now, and it's here:
http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/nq_walk.zip

At agagames, a moderator must check the file before it is available - but it doesn't last more than a coupla days.

Hope it may help youÃ,  :D
