It think it was some problem with an implemented in-game-timer that's affected by the CPU-speed.

You need to be quick, take the correct path at once and not stop anywhere. Furthermore, if you you're using a saved game from after entering this level, chances are you won't make it because you lost time... save as soon as you enter this chapter or at the end of the previous one.

Thank you Leon, I do have a save from Chapter 3, I'll start from there. the only way I can get under the web is to eat the fruit & go directly to the web & I can pass that way, but then I need the handle at the rivers ! Sooooo, I will try as you suggested.
thanx
Boo,
I'll let U know   :P

It doesn't matter which chapter I restart in, I cannot get past the spiders...that maze is very tedious. oh well, on to something else.
thanx for you help!
Boo
ps I will not delete the game until I hear from someone with a better idea  ::) or at least a few days..

Come to think of it.... do you eat the purple fruit that's on the tree north of the statue? This will increase your speed dramatically... and do you take the right path?
Spoiler
Follow the path to the north through the opening in the wall. Keep following the path and keep to the right. You’re in a maze but can’t do anything else but following the path until you’re at a sundial. Enter the north right path of the sundial. Again you can only follow the path through the maze and when you exit the maze, keep walking to the right until you see a door in the wall. Opposite of the door, a bit to the right is a statue. Look at the statue. It holds a key. Take the KEY.

North from this statue is a tree that has purple fruit in it. You can eat it and it will increase your walking speed for some time. So take the path opposite the door and eat the fruit. Then use the key on the door and go through. Go south past the gazebo and keep walking all the way to the left until you’ll see a shed. Enter the shed and look at the shelves in the back. On one of them is a handle. Take the HANDLE. Leave the shed and go back the way you came, to the right and north at the gazebo. Through the door and turn right here. Follow the path and it will turn north. Keep walking north until you’re at the spider web. When you were quick enough you can crawl under it. If not, try again.

I am only going to try this 100 more times & then I quit..  all of these things that you suggest, have been tried except... I didn't go to the right of the gazebo, I just quickly went up & thru the door to the right & to the spiders & if I wait for the spiders to all be @ the top, I get eaten, if I just go right thru the web, he dies.. I'm ??

When deleted a game, the savegames should still be on your disc

??? When I delete a game, the file is removed from the harddrive. You might want to check with an undelete app but still, the file is deleted. A load or save-game is nothing more than creating/deleting files in a folder.

One advantage.... you now know you can pass the spider web..   :D

To make spoiler text, put "[ hide ]" before the text you want hidden and "[ /hide ]" after (without the spaces).

thank you, made it to the dragon kings part of the castle, & think  have followed instruction correctly, am standing on the green tile with the moon, have the mirror & am deflecting the dragon fire, buttttt all to know avail. this blocking of the fire etc can go on for too long, I went for a sandwich & things, came back & he was still shooting fire & it still being blocked. What is going on?  >:(

never mind, I wasn't waiting long enuf for the dragon to get right in front of me b/4 switching to the mirrorthingamabob  ::), but I got it, & p.s. each lever seems to get harder
lots of great challengeshere  ;)

I feel like a real pest, but stuck again.... it seems this tripple maze is as bad as the desert, but I got thru that, here  no matter which direction I turn, L or R, all doors are locked, I tried reading the 2008 notes & this was a problem area for others as well
Help please, with sugar on it. :)
