I mixed ice cubes, 100ml of sulfuric acid, and 30ml of nitric acid into the bowl but when I try to add 3 drops of glycerin from the glycerin bottle the whole mixture explodes and I die and must reload the saved game. Do I need a dropper for the glycerin?
Perhaps I am inept. I still cannot get the password for the computer. I can't see anything "on the curtain". Any help?
You are not alone. All I can see on the curtain is the cord but it is stuck. It's a bit of a pixel hunt to find it but it is at the upper left corner of the blind. How do I unstick it? Can anyone give us a hand here?

I am having so much trouble making the bomb that I don't even know what I am going to blow up when I make it. Is that what I use to open the trap door in the bathroom??? Everytime I put in the glycerin, it blows up. Also, sometimes it lets me put the icecubes in the bowl before I put the glycerin in and sometimes it doesn't. HELPPPPPPPPPP

I didn't see this thread before. Watching other people talk about my game is funny. :) I appreciate your interest, but you should all try to solve the puzzles yourselves instead of asking for hints, you will enjoy the game a lot more. I don't think the "stuck for five minutes, ask for hint" technique is the right one. But hey, the customer is always right, what do I know?

Love this game, but it is one tough one. Thanks for all the hints. Alkis wants us to solvle it all by ourselves without hints, but I personally am not as smart as he is to think up all that is involved in solving some of the challenges. Thanks Alkis for a great game though , if you are reading these hint pages.
Rosie, I've had this problem that you mention (if I understand it correctly) in the past with all AGS games, not just Other Worlds. A possible cause is that you have other programs running (for instance, sometimes if Paint Shop Pro is running on my computer AGS colors are always scrambled). Try closing every other program you may be using before running the game.
Oh, and thanks for your kind words. :)
Is the screen is going "technicolor" (or "psychadelic", as I prefer ;) ) you can solve that by simply alt-tabbing out and back in. The game will be normal again.

You can get back into the mansion again, so don't worry. I'm sorry though I forgot how I got back there, quite by accident.
Now I remember, use crystal on yourself. That takes you to other worlds, remember??

I'm in the mansion. I believe I need the medicine bottle that is mentioned on the note in the kid's bedroom to get three drops of glycerine. The note says the beam will show the way in the room that never gets dark. I think that means use the prism in the same room (because Natalie mentions that the room is light even though it's nighttime). But no matter what I do, no matter where in the room I click with any icon (including the prism) nothing happens. I've tried other rooms, but they don't work either.

Kurisutsure, the note actually mentions ANOTHER room where it never gets dark. ANd you'll need to solve another puzzle to get there, so don't concentrate on it yet.

There are three numbers. Notice that some numbers have more than one symbol. Don't look for 100% exact likeness, either, just a general idea.

I could never have figured out by myself how to set up the prism to find the dropper for the bomb mix without the cheat sheet in the walkthrough. Hope I am not spoiling it for anyone, I try not to use it because I like this game and want it to last, but when I really have tried everything and nothing works, then I go to it.

I opened the trapdoor, I've gotten the sawdust. I figure I have to open that concrete door with the plastic bomb, but I need the dropper. I've tried all the items I have on that door just in case. When I try to use the bowl on the door, it says it isn't ready yet (which is why I figure I need to get the other door). So I'm really stuck.
Never mind, I finally got it for those of you who were like me and not getting it :

You have to open the trapdoor in the bathroom (which you probably know) after you do that, you go down to the final room (the one with the cement door) look at the windows (the have daylight) and there is also a metal plate or something, which you need to put the dish and screw on (combine the dish with a hole in it with the screw and bolt). The put the prism on it. there's your beam.

You need to use the RETRAF spell on the boat *before* the force field sucks you in, not when you're back to the shore. You have to be in the same screen with the force field for the spell to work.

Notice that "slippery" means that a *liquid* is under your feet, and you do have a puzzle that can help you get rid of liquids.. it's just not the right color.

There is an exit in the first room you enter in the mansion (the one that has the book) that you missed. Search on the left of the front door for an 'Exit' sign.
Sorry Alkis, its just that every room looks like it has daylight to me, and Natalia didn't mention that that room was bright with daylight. I really like the game, that part was just really confusing.

i just got the fax and it seems to be very complicated to figure out how to use the methods for deciphering the methods. Can anyone explain how to do so?
Ok this is the best puzzle in the game so please try it before resorting to a walkthrough! It's cunningly designed so that it looks a lot harder than it actually is.

There are three deciphering methods, try to eliminate the ones that can't help you. If you can't, try all three of them, starting with the easiest one.

Great game, best I have played in a long time, but I was really stuck so I decided to try the walkthrough. I couldn't open it because I don't have "Word" so I put it on a floppy and took it to another computer, opened it and saved it in "Wordpad". So anybody that is having this problem email me and I will gladly send it to you.

Are you sure you're casting the spell on the right marble? There is no "That would be pointless" line when you cast a spell on the Obe marble. You either get "Well, I hope it worked" if you get it right, or "I didn't need to do that, it was already programmed" if you try it twice, or "Spell produced no effect" if you type the wrong spell. Remember, the Obe marble is red & purple, the Fathel marble is red & orange.

yes I am casting the spell on the correct marble I made sure by looking at it first and it said "Its the marble to Obe" and its the red and purple one. I tried it just now a few times and I still get the message "That would be pointless"

I am still stuck at not being able to program the marble I know you said I shouldn't be getting the message That would be pointless but I am and I am using correct marble. I have used marble without programming it and of course I die and get message that marble is not programmed. I thought maybe it was a bug seeing as I am getting a message that I am not supposed to but that can't be right because reading the thread I see other people have passed this. Maybe I should download the game again and start over but I don't really want to do that as I have spent hours wandering and doing stuff in Fathel. Do you have any other suggestions? Maybe I dont have enough spells to move on? I have 10 in one spell book and 6 in the other.
I made the fire with magnifying glass on the bit the sun shines through and cooked the corn but when i give it. i get a few spells and meet the reaper but none of the spells help me what should i do

Well so far so good, I tried the second email address. The first one was the one I had tried over and over again. It has been nearly two hours from I have sent it so hopefully you will get it this time. I'm not sure whats going on but I know for sure its not problem with my email because I sent the file to a friend of mine and she got it okay so I asked her to forward it on to you which she did and it was returned to her as well. If for some reason it does come back to me this time I have come up with a solution, a friend is going to set me up a web page and I will put the file on there. I hope after all this it is not something really stupid I am not doing in the game because I am going to feel like a real idiot and I'll never show my face on here again lol.

I'm at the pyramid in the Red Sea where you have to select 12 of the 50 symbols. I looked at the inscription in the tree saying that only those in their prime would pass (or similar). So I figured it was a reference to prime numbers - of which there are 12 between 7 and 50. But it doesn't seem to work. Any further clues?
In chapter 7 I cannot get past the force field. I cannot get the spell retraf to work. Can anyone help.

In the room where you met the troll who wanted to put the band together, there's a hard-to-find exit on the hill on the left part of the screen. Do some pixel hunting

Sorry, this was how it worked for me. I'm not sure what else could trigger it. Have you visited the Roman as well as the girl's room? Have you been in the nurses room once and been thrown out? You might have to TRY to enter her room while she's still there.

I visited both. Well... I have never come any further than the door of the nurse`s room. Than it says something like "she won't be happy if you would go in there" and turns around...

You can call the roman, but unless you alter your voice to make it sound deeper (drink coke quick before the nurse comes back) he won't help you out. He will get the nurse to disappear from the room so you can go in there and get what you need to give to the other little girl in the other room so that she will help you out.
I finished this game, by doing a lot of peeking at the walkthrough, and I am sorry that I did because when you find out what you have to do, in many cases, it was so simple. Other things, I would never have thought to do.
Enjoy the game and if you need any subtle hints or just out and out what to do. I will help you. Have fun.

If you found the pond and got the stone, walk to your right and you will come upon a stream with a frog sitting on a lily pad, you have to use the stone to do something to get something that the frog is sitting on.

Instead of just usually clicking on the bottom, left or right of the screen, you have to continue going up the brown area and then clicking on the top of the screen (left side, if I remember right to get over the mountain and to the snowy area)

Rosidedp is right. To clarify, it's about two or three screens west of the volcano crater summit. In that screen you walk as far north as possible (top of your screen) to get to the snowy area

Head back to the starting screen, where the two panels and the middle door are - west of the "hungry boiler room" alien. Look at both panels, then, I believe you might have to touch them too. There's a cut scene of two aliens, and then you hide. Check the panels out again

Have you looked at the lockers near the storage room. If you haven't, then look really closely. AFTER you have done this, walk real close to the big pink alien with the three eyes

Holly, you have a lot of things to do yet before you can get the man out. First you have to cook the corn. Look in your inventory and see what you have ,then you need to get a couple of other things to enable you to cook the corn. Anyway, I just found out how to HIDE what I was saying. You'll need spells to do both tasks. Heed the hints in the game dialogue that occurs upon interaction with all the characters. And of course, I do concur that SOME of the puzzles, are real puzzlers. lol.

you have to have water in the bucket, you also have to find a forked branch, to start a fire you must find a screen where you get use your magnifying glass to start a fire, use the branch on the corn to cook it

Its hard to help you guys because I don't know exactly who you have talked to and who you have helped. Nearly everybody that you talk to needs help of some sort, its just figuring out how to help them. There is so much to do here before you can go to Mars.

Remember the gay guy that you gave a gift to, if you listen to what he says he works on animal skin, look at what you have in your inventory and think about what would make a pair of gloves, some kind of skin maybe? When you have figured that out give it to him then exit out of that screen then back in and he should have gloves ready

For Vuwoo, did you ever go down to the lake from Weldgils house and talk to her and her sisters? Remember how they were down that they couldn't play on the water slide?

In the Brown province where you meet beautiful Venya and Tem, you talk to them and get the idea that Tem can help out. You realise you can cast a spell on Venya to make her ugly and distract Tem. When you do so, he fixes the water slide

You'll want to then check on the slide, make sure it's fixed and then head East in the Brown province until you find Vuwoo hooked up with Zavaprock whose life you earlier saved after digging him out of the ground. Talk to them

Flefflgeple is in the Snowy Mountains. You'll find those maybe 3 screens west of the volcanoe by heading North, out of the Brown province. Talk to Fleff, you learn you have something in inventory he could use. Give it to him

been awhile since I played this game, but if I remember right, you have to go near closed windowed doors in hallway and listen to see if anyone is talking there. Use recorder on their conversation in order for you to be able to go thru doors.

I understand the whole prime number clue but I am not sure if there is a certain order in which to click on the symbols. Natalia keeps telling me that "that was 12 numbers but nothing happened, I will start again" I have tried many times in different directions and it is getting tedious.

Tina the recorder is in the crate past the alien, You have to use somehting in your inventory to open it. Also before going back look at lockers in another room otherwise the alien will kill you.

Good, at least you've figured out how to get inside of the nurses office. That one was difficult for me. There are two other patients in the hospital that you can interact with. One is loony, and the other an arsenist. In the hallway, North of the nurse's station, facing your room, are two rooms on the left side. Use the talk icons at the doors to enter each room

You call the patient by room number. Remember what YOUR room number is? Take a stab in the dark guess at what the loon's number is based on YOUR room number and what might be that of the arsonist. Then give the loon a call.
Initially, loony won't believe you because you sound like a girl. You can remedy that by drinking the coca coal though Ã, ;)

After you leave the examining room, stick really close to the lockers in the hallway. Stay far right, and exit. You'll end up INSIDE the nurse's office. Save the game here by the way.

Trying to figure out just where you are.You should have a pickaxe and an axe. The pickaxe was given to you by the guy you gave the fossil to. After you go to the house (not the house where Weldgil was), and talk to it, Nathaniel comes out and gives you the SIMED spell. You cast this spell on the dead end and you get a pebble from the puddle, use the pebble to the right of frog and get the flower. Cast REKITKARP on the flower and this gives you an axe. Just read back on your messages and you said you did all this. If you turned the flower into an axe then you should have both tools. Did you check your inventory really well lol

Thank you so much. This is the closer solution that I have read so far. I will check it out. I think I might have forgotten to cast the spell on that flower because I do not have the axe. :)

Trying to figure out just where you are.You should have a pickaxe and an axe. The pickaxe was given to you by the guy you gave the fossil to. After you go to the house (not the house where Weldgil was), and talk to it, Nathaniel comes out and gives you the SIMED spell. You cast this spell on the dead endÃ, and you get a pebble from the puddle, use the pebble to the right of frog and get the flower. Cast REKITKARP on the flower and this gives you an axe. Just read back on your messages and you said you did all this. If you turned the flower into an axe then you should have both tools. Did you check your inventory really well lol

Okay the piece of paper I can help you with because that stumped me too. Its the book of matches. As for the coal I am trying to figure that one for you, are you sure its not in your inventory? I can't even remember if you can scroll up and down in inventory, did you try that? maybe its there and you have just missed it. Always nice to try and help out a fellow canadian 8)

Okay I figured it out for you I had a saved game close to that so I checked my inventory to see if I had coal and I didn't, so I looked at spell book and SIRAINUOVRAK will turn your book of matches into coal :)
I've looked up andd down for a tiny hint of a hint, and I can't find anything. My items are: pills, cat food, visa, key, knife, rope, oj, corn, ball, magnifying glass, vodka, screwdriver, saw, band-aid, marble, sticks, flower, bucket w water. Does this help any?

when you first arrived did you talk to Dioulie (I think she had green hair) you will have to help her but not yet. You then exit to the east twice, and talk to Verplaya, get some twigs from the ground. I see you have corn, you have to cook this corn because you will need it later, look for a forked branch and cut it off with your saw. There is a screen that has a beam of sunlight, use twigs and magnifying glass to make a fire and cook your corn using the forked branch. There is a house, its east (twice) from the crossroads, where you can walk up the steps and a man will appear (Weldgil) talk to him, he is the one who will give you your first spell book. what are you trying to cut? I never got the message vandilisiam will get you nowhere so you are not using the saw on the correct thing, you should be looking for a tree with a forked branch to use your saw on

I am assuming you are looking for the forked branch that you need to use the saw on, I will try and guide you to where the forked branch is. Find your way to the crossroads, exit to the North, this is where you talked to a man and got a flower, exit to the North from there and you should be in the screen where there is a forked branch on a tree, try looking at all the branches and you should get a message that says something like "thats a strange looking branch or something similar, use your saw on it. This is a really complicated chapter of the game, ther is so much to do in it, I think you would be better off with the walkthrough, do you want me to send it to you?

After you blew up the ship and you went west twice, there was a tree, you had to look at tree. There was an inscription on the tree with instructions regarding the signs, so that you could work out exactly what signs to tap. If you can't work it out let me know if you want me to tell you exactly which numbers
Well - I am quite early on in this interesting game. Am near the end of chapter 3 and trying to set the bomb. However, when I go to "use" the alarm clock on the bomb, NOTHING happens! What is my problem likely to be here? ??? Hope someone can help me out :) Thanks in advance. :)

The WT says to use the clock on the bomb and THEN set the alarm after doing that. So I keep trying to use the clock on the bomb and NO LUCK! Is there possibly a glitch here? Thx for any help you can offer me :)

Yes, I did get the bomb on the door and was finally able to "use" the clock on it. Now I can't seem to set the alarm clock. ??? Looked at bomb and looked at my watch which told me the time. What now?? Hope someone can give me a nudge in the right direction here. Thx in advance. :)

You are supposed to cast the LAFFER spell on her but I was trying to help somebody else just past there. I had a game saved just at the point before casting the spell and when I tried casting the LAFFER spell on her I kept getting the message "this spell only works on humans" which is so strange because it worked for me when I was playing the game

I remember wandering around there for hours too lol. As far as I remember there is a screen in the snowy area somewhere where you can go South and it takes you into the brown province. Its just finding that screen lol. Then you keep going west and then south. Just kinda work your way over and down.When you reach the crossroads its east to Weigil's house and the river is east of that.

somebody else asked that question earlier, looks like maybe you are having the same problem so I will just tell you the same thing - the dip net is on the ground beside Plee, the net is grey so kinda blends in with the snow but it is there, you have to pick it up

Well you can't have been reading through all the 20 pages of this thread because if you had you would have seen that I had exactly the same problem when I tried to program the Obe marble. I kept getting the message "that would be pointless" yet everybody else seemed to have got past that point. I had to end up sending my saved game to the creator of the game, he sent it back to me just past this point and thats the only way I was able to go on playing the game.

Joyce - I do recall reading about that problem where you had to send the saved game to Aklis. Could you maybe send me your saved game so I don't have to wait too long for Aklis to send it to me? Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.:)

Not sure how many points GeeGee had but I know I must have had enough because I think I got the message saying I had enough spells to go to Obe. But for some reason the spell just wouldn't work. Now when Alkis looked at my saved game he couldn't find anything wrong and he was able to cast the spell in my saved game for me and sent me that saved game. So I don't know what was going on there. I have sent GeeGee the saved game because it looked like it was the same problem. I sure did vote for Aklis. This is a great game. I like it when it is a full length game with lots of things to do. I also like the idea of knowing how many points you have and how much more you need to complete the game.

When I cast the spell on Medusa it says "this spell only works on humans". What can I do to avoid this situation? Is there another spell that should be used? Is there a problem per the WT?

I finished the game and didn't hit that problem but when I was helping somebody else out with something else, I loaded a game I had saved just before casting spell on Medusa tried casting the spell and I got the same message as you are getting, "this spell only works on humans" I didn't get that when I was playing it the first time. Maybe you could ask Aklis on Gameboomers, I would be curious to find out the answer to this myself.

There is an exit in the first room you enter in the mansion (the one that has the book) that you missed. Search on the left of the front door for an 'Exit' sign.
You probably haven't found this room because the prism is in clear view, think it was sitting on a table 8)
I eventually found it. I kept on going into the wrong room. ::) Thank you so much Joyce. Now hopefully I can get on with this game without being being stuck on one puzzle for days. ;D
Maybe it's just me but I'm stuck again. I don't know how to make the screwdriver. I have the bottle of vodka and the can of orange juice. I try using them on the bottles in the kitchen but they don't work. And every time I try to make the screwdriver she says that the bottle is empty.
Please help. :)

You need to find a way to get into the door where you first arrived and saw the two aliens enter, you need to do two things, one of them is to use the recording you made and the other one is to use something that has a fingerprint or handprint. I'm not sure exactly what all you have done or what you have in your inventory. Do you have anything in your inventory that would have a fingerprint or handprint on it?

You need to set a trap where the man is behind the hatch. Have you found the kitchen? where you need to pick up a metal rod, you have to make bait for the trap, use one of your spells on what was your orange ball. I think you must have to use the metal bar somewhere too, I can't remember exactly. After you put spell on what was your orange ball put that on the floor in front of the hatch, watch what happens and then you will have something with which to fool the fingerprint device on those big doors.

Have you talked to Tem (who needs tools) Have you talked to Aknava (in the snowy area). Have you found Al with the spider (in the snowy area) because you can now go past the spider, from there you keep going east until you find Salonam - he needs a fossil. Then back in brown province outside the cave there will be a girl (Verplaya)after you do something for her she will go into the cave and bring you a fossil. Give that to Salonam and he will give you a pickaxe.

I looked to see if I had a saved game at this point, but unfortunately with the game being so long and only so many save slots I must have had to save over that one. Are you following the walkthrough? Did you use the bottle from underneath the bed on Natalie to find out that it is vodka? I assume you have if you know its vodka. Walkthrough says You have to use the hand icon on the bottles to make a screwdriver, I can't really remember the exact way of doing this. Maybe you have to use the hand icon on the bottle of vodka, then on an empty bottle, then the hand icon on the orange juice and the bottle you put vodka in?

This is the best way I can describe how to find it, not knowing exactly where you are now but

from the forest area you keep going north then east until you see a rocky area where there is a cave entrance, you don't go in the cave, go east twice, you should be in a completely brown area, go north and you'll see the beginning of the snowy mountain area, keep going north like you are climbing up the mountain and you should then be in snowy area

yep starting on the 7th hanging down thingy from the left but there are 51 places you can click on1 which is number one the first whole one or the half one on left. neither work if you start from 7

I loaded up my game again to have a look and I only counted 50 things hanging down, they are all dark in colour, I don't see any half one at all, so number 1 is the first whole one. I just did it and it worked for me. Before starting to hit them, did you look at the wall, did you look at the signs. I honestly don't know what you are doing wrong.
I have a question concerning the use of the wand-icon.
I had quite some difficulties to cast the spell on Venya
and I really thought that I might be wrong with that, although I clicked on Venya and typed the spell, it said that it could only be cast on persons. After a long time trying to click and trying to get along in other places, I luckily hit the correct pixel and could use the spell.
Now it is the same with that ugly flower at the lava-spot.
Although I'm clicking directly on the flower it always says that this is no flower or cannot be used.
Is using the wand just such "pixel-sensitive" or is there any trick for using the wand-icon that I don't know??
Could somebody please tell me how to get the walkthrough? I went to My Computer, then Program Files, Other Worlds, and then I went to Walkthrough. I typed in biji, but it didn't show anything after and I can't find the walkthrough. Do I have the wrong password?

You need to use the bolt & screw on the metal dish, use the dish on the plate on a post, put the prism on the dish and a beam of light will show up on a brick. The dropper is behind the brick. I am assuming you have the bolt and screw, the dish and the prism, Ã, but read all of this thread, I know its long but there might be a better explaination than this. good luck

Can anyone help me? I am stuck at the lava pool in chapter 7. I have clicked every inch of the screen but I cannot get the crowbar into the lava pool. Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips? I can use the eye icon to see the pool, but the hand icon just says "what exactly are you reaching for" and wherever I click the crowbar it says "the crowbar will not help you there". I am not just being impatient, I have been clicking for hours :o( This is a truly awesome game by the way and I would hate to not be able to finish it.
I had a saved game just before this part so I played it to see if I could help you. I am assuming you are using the small pool of lava at the front because you said you can use the eye icon to look at it, it does tell you that its a small pool of lava. I clicked my crowbar on it, there is a little white dot at the bottom of the crowbar and I just positioned that in the middle of the pool and it worked okay for me.
Thanks Joyce. I am clicking the little blue dot on the crowbar in every inch of the lava pool and still no luck. I dont know what the problem is. Someone commented earlier about having difficulty clicking on things and by luck clicking on the right pixel. Perhaps this is what has happened for some reason. I guess I should have saved more than one game :-[

The only other thing I can think of is that you haven't talked to Dioulie at the chasm where you need to cross. She tells you what she needs to get over, maybe you can't use the crowbar on the small puddle of lava until she has told you this. I think there was an option of asking her what should we do now? or something like that. I have tried my game again and nomatter where on the pool that I click - it works
Yes I talked to dloulie at the chasm first and then tried to give her the rope but she needed a grappling hook so thats when I tried the crowbar and then went back the next screen and saw the lava pool. And then you know the rest. Can you put your hand in the lava pool? As i said, I can see it, but then all the other icons act as if it isnt even there. I am really disappointed because I had come so far in the game and I cant bear to start it all again!
Yay! It finally worked. I went back through the process and talked to dloulie again at the chasm and then went back and it went in the pool straight away. I am thinking that the problem was the first time I handed her the rope and she said she needed the hook in response to that, but I didnt actually use the talk icon on her and ask her "what to do". Thank you so much for your help!
You are welcome, glad you got it to work, I was thinking of sending you my saved game but problem was in the other worlds folder they are all just numbered so it would have taken me a little while to figure out which one it was.

However, I'm still stuck, having given Wel something his cooked corn, and fallen to the ground. I've typed in the correct spell ( according to my sneaking a peak) but haven't gotten anywhere. Girlfriend says I should be doing this on myself....okay but everytime I enter spell word and exit I can't and am back to the spell page again. So I need some specific help.

This is what the walkthrough says, after you gave Weldgil his corn, you talk to him and after you die, you have a new cursor (wand) and a spell sheet, you have to open inventory and read spell sheet. Then cast RYKGEM on the Grim Ripper.(think it means Grim Reaper)
Its been a while from I have played and I looked to see if I had a saved game at that part but I don't. Are you seeing the Grim Reaper? (man in black cloak)

I do have the spell sheet and wand but my screen show only the spell sheet, it covers my monitor and I can't exit. I did see the grim reaper but he's gone and here I sit looking at this large spell sheet. I have typed in 2 of the spells...reserection and the one that looks like its spelled backwards. I loaded a saved game to have a look at the spell book and like you say the spell book covers the screen but there is an exit button at the bottom right hand corner and all I had to do was click the hand icon on it to exit. This happened to me when I was playing another game, I couldn't see everything on my screen. Somebody told me to run winsetup.exe for that game.
I am not very technical but try this
Go into Program Files/Other Worlds and look for winsetup.exe, double click on that. I had a look at mine and its set at 640 x 400. Look and see if thats what yours is set at and if not then click on that , then hit save or save and run.

Marie are you using the walkthrough? Its been a while from I have played so don't remember exactly, I had a look at the walkthrough but its not much help. All it says is place the edible thingy on the surface in front of the hatch, it doesn't say whether you have to use rod or edible thingy first. The edible thingy is what you have after you use the AYOS spell on the orange ball. Sorry I can't be of more help.

My major problem is that in the walkthrough says that I have to put the ice cubes before everything else on the basin but when I try to do that appears a sentence "Why do you want to put the ice cubes in the basin?".
May this be some kind of a bug? ???

I had a look at the walkthrough and all I can think of is - right before you have to put ice cubes in the basin you were supposed to read the instructions in the book first - have you done this? maybe it won't recognize that you need ice cubes until you read the instructions

I still need help setting up the stupid trap please.
You're still stuck here eh, I loaded up a saved game just after I got the rod to see what I could do to help you. Then I couldn't find the hatch, its been so long from I played. I finally found it. Are you sure you are at the correct hatch? its the one when you look at it, it says it looks different than the rest of the hatches. There is yellow grids on the floor as well. All I had to do was put the edible thingie (the red triangle thing) on the floor in front of the hatch and then the little timer thingie came on and the rod was used automatically and trapped the aliens hand. I saved it there. I don't know whats happening with you. If you can't get it to work I could let you have the saved game. Let me know.
I seem to have a bug or something. I have 12 spells now, I went into my inventory to look at my new spells and change the gift into something more appropriate, and I can't get out!
I click on exit and my inventory closes, but the spell list is still there. I try to exit that, and my inventory comes back. Round and round! Help??

It is in a few screens before you get to the lava area (I guess it's the one after the room with Kilkliklik) Anyway, it's a big scrolling screen, you see that when you go east, and you can also scroll to the north and south (not that clearly to be seen). Go north and you'll see some snow on top of the mountains. You can exit there to the snowy area.

the knife is in the bedroom, you have to sharpen it on the steps outside the house, then use it to cut the rope

When you first enter the mansion there is a room very near the entrance, I can't remember exactly where try moving your curser up and look for exit, thats where the prism is, its sitting on a table.

I had much the same problems, but I got the walkthrough password from Alkis, and that helped me whenever I got stuck too long. So ask the creator...

E-mail the creator. Tell him to e-mail it to you in RTF format, which should be readable on virtually all PC based machines (or TXT format, which is readable on all PC based machines).
He used a DOC format before which is always a bad idea. DOC just isn't the most compatible format, RTF is far better. I had to move it over to another computer and transfer it to RTF before moving it back to my system.

Are you sure you have all the ingredients for the bomb, did you look at it in your inventory and did it say it was ready, I can't remember if that happens or not though, its been a long time from I have played it.

3 drops of glycerin added with the dropper, which should be after the two other ingrediants, and the saw dust, then you should be able to put the bomb at the door (maybe slightly below the door), and add the clock to the bomb. Go to the walkthrough and make sure you are doing it all precisely. Make sure you have all the ingrediants, all the items. If it isn't working, you have to be doing something wrong. Backcheck it again. If, after all this, nothing works, contact the creator and tell them exactly in detail the problem, including everything you've done in relation to the bomb.

That is a red herring. You don't actually need Napalm... But you will need the orange juice later in the game and the vodka mixture drink does give you points. Did you put in the sawdust?

Allison I don't know what you are doing wrong, I roughly counted the points that you should have and I think you should have 190 just before you use the alarm clock on the bomb, look in the walkthrough and count the points and look and see how many points you actually have, if you don't have the points it says in the walkthrough then you must have missed a step somewhere.
I'm still on chapter one. I talked to my sister and at home, turned on the comuter, checked the time, read the message. But how can I exit the computer screenshot? I tried F12 but it didn't work.
I think you have to click on the START button and shut down, just like your own computer

Thanks, but that walkthrough still doesn't tellme the whereabouts of that knife. It just tells me to get the knife and the card, and leave the room. I can't find the knife. I don't see anything that resembles a knife.

Okay I started the game again because I couldn't remember exactly where the knife was. Just as you enter the bedroom, its at the bottom right hand corner of the screen - sitting on the corner of the dresser
I have died and resurected myself, after getting lava thrown on me by that wierd guy on that mountain. In the walkthrough it says to go west and then north but I can't. My character won't go up that far and I can't get to the new screen.
Sorry can't help you here, not even sure exactly where you are, but I do remember some of the exits out of some screens are a little hard to find. Hopefully by now you will have found it

If you have read over these hints, (I know its a long thread)but somewhere in here you will see that I had exactly the same problem as you are having, yet nobody else seemed to have this problem. I had to end up getting a saved game from the creator.

I know, it was exactly the same for me. I had the correct spell too just like you and it just would not program the marble for me. At first the creator thought I was trying to program the wrong marble but I wasn't. I just had a look in my files and I still have the saved game that creator sent me, if you want me to send it to you, private message me with your email address.

I'm up to the point where you have to make the bomb to blow the door. I'm trying to find the dropper I know you need to use the metal bowl (combined with the screw) on a metal plate in the same room as the concrete door but I can't find the plate.

I looked at the walkthrough for you and it looks like it is East of where the library books are, thats where you got the basin on the table, all it says is exit to the E and get the gray metal dish
I've followed the walkthrough when I've got stuck in the mansion. I have all the items. It's where I put the metal bowl when I'm the room with concrete door that I can't work out.

I'm really stuck. Please can anybody help me. I'm in that aerospace vehicle. I have food, I did everything at the big door I had to do, I have the rod. Did the recording, read the manual. Everything. But I can not give the food. Everytime it says that I have to block the hatch fiirst and when I want to do that, it says I need the food first. What to do?????????? Please
Maybe you can help me, you had the same kind of question before. I have the food and done everything (recording, looking panels, making food etc.), but I try to use the hatch with the rod, maybe that is not enough as a trap? What is the trap I need to use?

its been a while from I have played so looked at the walkthrough for you. It says to use the bolt & screw on the metal dish and use the dish on the plate on the post. You get the bolt & screw and a saw from a toolbox which is in a room below the trapdoor (trapdoor is in bathroom) but you will need a key to open the trapdoor. The key is in the safe and you will need to figure out a way to get the combination for that.

I am nearing the end of the game, and I'm in the screen where my little boat keeps getting sunk by the pirate ship. I passed the force field successfully with that RETRAF spell, but when I try to use the same spell again to get past the pirate ship, I keep getting the message, "I think I'm supposed to use this spell on myself." Does anyone out there have any suggestions as to how I can get past the ship? Thank you!

I'm in the mansion. I believe I need the medicine bottle that is mentioned on the note in the kid's bedroom to get three drops of glycerine. The note says the beam will show the way in the room that never gets dark. I think that means use the prism in the same room (because Natalie mentions that the room is light even though it's nighttime). But no matter what I do, no matter where in the room I click with any icon (including the prism) nothing happens. I've tried other rooms, but they don't work either.
The walkthrough is in the folder (program files, other worlds). It is named as "Walkthrough.exe" You have to extract it and it wants a password. The password is "bijin". ;D
