5 Days a Stranger

I'm stuck in 5 Days a Stranger, right after i've talked to that girl and told her to meet with the others in a room. I have a cord, an umbrella and a stick. I'm in the first day too. Anyone know how to get any further?

on the second day you have to find a guy who ran away from you the night before, go to the swimming pool and look at it, then go one screen to the right and you will see Phillip (i think) using metal detector. He's looking for family tomb. You have to convince him that the tomb is not beneath the garden he's digging at so he'll give you the metal detector. You could do that if you were somehow able to find the plans of the estate. Try the library.
