Can anyone give me some hints on how to escape from the very first room? I swear I've exhausted all options and am scratching my head and feeling like a n00b! ;D

I'm at the same place as you are. Go out and talk to guy at desk again and then go in and talk to the guys at bar but it still doesn't get you anywhere. I don't know.......
Went to top of this forum and did a search on pester quest. It doesn't seem like more than a five minute game, but I don't know what they are looking for to happen.

Here goes. This game doesn't make much sense. You talk to all the guys, go back out to desk, talk to Petri out there, go back in and talk to guys again. Look in your inventory and look at your friends book. You will finally see that only one guy isn't in your friend book. Look at him, compliment his hair, etc. conversation comes up, he still tells you to shut up or go away.
Talk to all the other guys again. Especially the one sitting at the bar. I asked when do the babes show up, He turns away and a script comes up telling you some info on now you have made all friiends and that is the end of the game. DUH
You all shouldnt be having all that much trouble. Just by getting the blue cup from Petteri, you are done with him and that room.

this game is just a silly game where you are inadvertantly annoying people. this is not at all a serious game. you are just playing a character that is new to the forums. that is why i said it is not for everyone. it is also not to be making fun of all new people to the forums, and i was hoping new people wouldnt play it and would think that im some kind of jerk. there is the joke going around that all new people should play this game, to kind of get to know what is expected here and what has been asked a thousand times before. im sorry you were all having trouble. i added the diary inventory item to try and help those who got stuck.
i do appreciate you all playing my game though.
