I'm really enjoying this game but I have been unable to proceed because I can't find anyway to get the lichen off the tree to use in my disguise. I just get a message saying she can't pull it off with her bare hands. Can anyone help? I really wanna carry on with this game.

Have you rescued the dog yet? If so, you'll have noticed a number of blades on the wall. There are some that you can pick up.
