You can't carve anything into the gravestone with the stick; it's too soft...

Use the chain on the gravestone.  Then talk to Death again and tell him about it.

Talk to the "performers" (the wolf and rabbit).  You get quite a few choices for things to ask them for.  Anything look interesting?

Ask them for insect spray, then use it on the bee.
