Title: Question on King's Quest VGA
Post by: CoffeeBob on Sun 27/03/2005 16:41:45
I was just wondering, what does Graham's fairy godmother's spell do? Does it protect you against anything at all?
Ah, one more question:
Spoiler
I gave the golden egg to the troll, but it made me lose points. Am I supposed to give him something else?

no, you don't have to give him anything at all
Spoiler

and about the spell: I've been wondering about that as well. At first I thought you needed it against the giant but this was wrong.
I could only guess that it makes it impossible for the wolf or the ogre to kill you ...

The godmother spell (and the invis ring, and magic shield once you've found it) protect you from a number of things, including the wolf, ogre, sorcerer and giant IIRC. However, you're not supposed to do any of that because you lose points. Also some combinations don't work (i.e. wolf can smell you even if invis).

I haven't played it for a while, but I think it protects you from the witch if you knock on her door when she's home.  I seem to remember her opening the door and disapearing if you have the protection spell.

Ok, thanks for all the help guys.
I'm stuck again... ::)
How do I get rid of that damn giant to get the chest?

You need to tire the giant out. This may sound difficult but he's pretty slow. Every time he comes near you, go somewhere else. After a while, he'll get so tired he'll collapse. Then you can grap the chest.
