I've gotten the beauty potion, but the game won't let me give it to the witch!  Every time I try the raven says I'm not giving that away.  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Try reading the book again. You'll find that what you made was not a beauty potion.

For some reason that is not working for me.

I have the potion in my inventory and I've tried giving it to the witch as well as climbing the vines outside the spells n' things shop to read the book again.  I keep getting the same message from the book that to make a potion to change into another person I need to throw hair and pants off cliff.  Granted it's not a beauty potion, but if I'm not supposed to give this to the witch then I'm at a loss.  I've tried using it on every item in the game but no success.

You can try drinking it by holding the mouse down over the invintory item.

Ah, thank you.  I completely forgot to try the verb coin interface in that way.
