I know that I really should have figured this out by now, but I can't get out of the first rooms either. I think I have tried everything on everything, and tried every item combo, so I'm missing something. I am sure it is a plain as the nose on my face, but I can't get ahold of the way the author thinks if I can't play the game for at least a couple of moves. Please help the stupid.

How do I open the vent with the crane. I suppose I need to use the chain--I've know how to move the crane--but I can't seem to put it anywhere. Thanks

Hm, I haven't quite managed that...

I have the ladder and have put it down in front of the lever. I have the chain but can't attach it because the hook is too far away. The hook is supposed to be moved from the control room computer, but if I use the computer, all it does is checks on the reactor. Talking to Roland and Irene doesn't help either.

I've done the other two thinks (sorted out the cooling pumps and burnt off the exhaust).

You managed to wake up the guy in the toilet stall? If so, talk to him and ask him to help you. In the control room, if everything goes well, you will automatically give him a walkie-talkie...

I have put the burning rags on top of the tower but I can't turn the wheel. I have pressed the back-up pump, called the water guys and got all three newspapers. What do I do now?

Nobody seems to be answering the question on how to deal with the water company. I've done the other two tasks and have the right vent open. It won't let me push the button in that room as well.

Thanks for your help TassieDevil but think you misunderstood as I have gotten past that point. Am absolutely stuck with the water pressure. Have sorted the vent out at top of tower and fixed the other with the use of the crane and chain, but have used all the options of telephone, guess I have to get into locker - but guard won't let me.
