Missing Since Midnight

I am stuck in Missing Since Midnight.  I have a lightbulb, rubber boots, a purse with money and a strange box.  I have tried everything and am stuck.  Can someone help me please?

When you have exhausted all dialogs, go to the corridor in the upper floor and open the hatch on the left hand side and talk to it (in fact, you talk to the cleaning lady). She doesn't want to help you, so send some money down the chute.

Many of us played the games so long ago, it is hard to remember every step. But help comes sooner or later :-)

Thanks Sthomannch, I never even saw the laundry chute.  Missed it entirely.  The game fell right into place after that.  Thanks for all of your help.  On to Conterfeit now.
