i have been playing this game for a few hours now but i've just realised that i could have made the goat follow me. i let him out of his pen at the begining so does anyone know where i can find him? or will i have to start all over again (i hope not). do i need the goat to complete the game?

I'm afraid you'l have to restore a previous game. You DO need the goat. When you let it out

use the carrot to make it follow you, and go slowly enough for it to follow you, otherwise you'll lose it forever

Remember to save often, you can die or miss important things...

thanks. can't believe i have to start again though. do i wait till later on in the game to get the goat, like after i get the egg, or can he climb trees too?

cross the bridge, where a troll doesn't let you cross, the goat will throw the troll to the river, after that it'll follow its own way

thanks all. i used the gold walnut on the troll though and he let me past so do i need the goat or am i ok to complete without him?

So you've used the gold walnut. It was in the game jsut as a way to get a few points, nothing else, but you lost them when you gave the gold walnut to the troll. Unless you use the goat on the troll, he'll be back whenever youÃ,  try to cross the bridge; even giving him every treasure you possess - and losing points wnehever you do that; and also you won't be able to finish the game if you give him a treasure you need to complete it...
