I've never played a SQ game before.
I'm at Labion but I'm pretty stuck...

get pass the security guy on the hover to get to the north east (is that time-based?) nor can I get pass the big shrooms (no idea yet)...
So what to do first? Can someone gimme a step-by-step clue?
Try hiding from the security guy. It may not make much sense, but if you can't see Roger, neither can the apeman. You're not supposed to go by the way of the mushrooms in this version.

If you've gotten to the plant alive then you have at least one of the things you need to defeat it. You'll need something more appetizing to bait it.

Its a bit hidden, northeast side of the area north of the transport crash.

Got miniturized, and every time I try to get to the computer vent, Vohaul smashes me with his fist.
Don't go around front. There's a place to crawl in on the screen with the glass cover.

Since the passcode is all fruit and you're surrounded by monkeys, take a good guess (it's also apparently written down somewhere in the room with the hammock, but I never found it)
As far as where to go next, have you gotten past the level 1 security?

Alien kissing you? It's not much of a puzzle, you just have to ruuuun (make it to the elevator before it gets you).

The code is written down on a piece of paper(?) in the hammock room (bottom center of screen).
Got the plunger and outran the alien (I let it catch me then restored just to see what happens, you don't die immediately but I guess after some time?).
I completely missed the right part of MB, got the lighter, fried the robot, got to Vohaul.
I'm small now and can't do anything to the glass, I assume I've missed an item? The OV solution says to cut the glass.

Aha, that's it, just be very very quick.
I tried it before but between switch from use to walk and run it got me already so I thought it must be a puzzle.
Just wasn't quick enough I guess. ;)
What I did to get to the elevator is to press the down arrow and then immediately the right arrow and just leave it till he gets to the next room.
I press the down arrow so I'm not in the hand's reach.

I'm distracted playing the mini-game. I have all the treasures except for whatever is on the right column in the treasure list between the silver cup and the shell. Does anyone know where to find it? I'm going over and over in circles!

There's some bugs with the mini-game, though it is beatable, it's not required to complete SQ2 (and there are no points given for doing so).

Vohaul's dead, I've stopped the lawyers. Got through the exterior section, I'm at a balcony looking at the shuttle, can't push the button, can't do anything in the corridor with pods/windows/deadly robot.

It's another "race the bad guy" thing. Just have to make it to the escape pod before the robot gets you.

Generally, wait until the creature starts reaching for you, then hit jump at the very end of the swing the opposite direction.

I could avoid the robot fine but interacting with the escape pods game me a message along the lines of "they are locked and can not be used at this time".

I waited for the countdown to reach the end while I was standing in the round corridor, it went from 0:01 to 0:0 and nothing happened. When I left the room, the game crashed with an error about using a blocking event in repeatedly_execute_always.
Odd, I have no problems opening the pods...are you going right or left to the pods?

Well, I finished the game with 225 points. I guess some tasks that earn you points were not necessary? Or there are better endings if you complete them?

I tried to lubricate the button for the escape pods with my tongue, but (fairly obviously) electrocuted myself. And the death message said I hadn't searched the bathroom enough.
So what did I miss?
That's a red herring, you should be able to go right to the escape pods, avoid the robot, and get in.

That's important, then? I went right, I couldn't go left due to the robo-masher.
Yeah, the robo-masher is on both sides (I believe it actually curves around and is the same room). Try going to the left and luring it towards you, then go all the way around to the right and try getting in the escape pod.
