still stuck (3 different games)

I still need help with 5 days a stranger.  Can't drain pool.  I have book from library. Cant' take map on second shelf and I already asked for metal detector.

Also Maybe I'm an amature but on Songa I swear I've dried dozens of times to give the man the rope and she won't even try.  She says not to even bother.  I have bottle, stone, and  rope.

Did you show him the map you've find from the library first? Otherwise you can get the metal detector.

But I finished 5 days a while ago.  This was an old post.

Oh and Porchbeast yes I tried making a hole with the bottle but she kept saying something about the ground not being right ?

I actually gave up on the game because I could never get passed the beginning.  But If somebody can provide a walkthrough I'll try playing it again.  The plot seems interesting but I just got frustrated.

If not OH well.
