I'm at Mort's place. Got the petrol, the string(+ the combination), the fire extinguisher, pillowcase, money, note,  but can't use it anywhere. Please help!

If you have the flaming mass, yay!

Use it on the hook in the store room.

If you have a petrol soaked string:

Load your saved game, because it's a BUG! You have to put the string on the extinguisher first, THEN soak it in petrol. Goddamn communists.

how do you get out of the attic in the beginning?

I think you have to use the pill bottle on the large drop.  Something of that sort anyway.

use or just walk out the window, I don't remember which, at the far right of the screen you'll find the large drop mentioned before. And you no longer need the hook or the fishing pole so don't worry about it.

on a separate note, i'd love to play gaea fallen but i've downloaded it a coupla times and it doesn't seem to work. any other xp users have this problem?

I have xp, and I can, but you have to simulate it in Win95. Right click on the exe, and then under compatibilities... choose run in Win95 simulation.

you need to "tickle" him with something else in your inventory from up above on the cliff
