I may have to register in order to get a solution to this, but... I am trying to make a play games with the newest version of AGS.  Here's my problems:

I am running a two LCD setup with ATI drivers.  I tried compiling and testing a 600 x 480 game I made in AGS 2.71.  Instead of running, it showed me a grey screen on one monitor, with lighter grey lines running horizontally acrossed it and one vertical line (no images at all).  I ctrl-alt-del, and my other monitor loses its taskbar and doesn't show me my task manager.  So, I reboot.

In case it was the 2.71 AGS that was causing problems, I ported an extremely simple game I made in 2.55, compiled and ran it - no problems.

So I thought this might just be the game I was trying to make, or maybe even the two LCD setup.  So I disabled one LCD and downloaded Prodigal.  Loading up Prodigal 1.1 gives me the great music, but again, I get a grey screen with lines.  Apparently there is an animation in the intro, cause the grey fades to black starting at the right side of the monitor...

Does anyone else get this grey screen problem, where the only choice they have left is to reboot?

Apprentice 2 works though.  Hurray!!!

Doh, I have to compile and run the game in windowed mode....

How can I run other people's games in windowed mode?  I checked the properties box for the executable and didn't have the option.  I also checked the config file, and there is no windowed=1 line or anything... is that a possible feature for the future, considering LCD's can't run lower resolutions?

Over the course of the morning, I've found out several things that were not immediately obvious via my forum searching...  The latest is that if the game you are trying to play does not have a windowed=1 line in the config file, you can add it yourself and save yourself the windows XP properties searching.  If you have an LCD setup, you may want to do this anyway.

Prodigal works now.  :)
