Melrin: The Pendant Quest

Well, so far I haven't had too much trouble with the game, but now I need to ask for help.

I'm at the end of the game and need to retrieve the pendant from the ceiling.Ã,  I have the crowned cabbage and the white feather, but I don't know how to peel the lemon.Ã,  These ingredients aren't working, so something must be wrong.Ã,  Any tips?

I'll do this a small hint at a time, so you can only read as much as necessary:

Well, apparently you haven't tried all your supplies on the tree...

The tree is old and fragile.  You sure you don't have something that could affect it?

Use the spell that can break through breakable objects.  The tree will collapse into a pile of wood.

Use the rope with the wood; you'll make a ladder!  Now just use the ladder on the cliff...

EDIT: Okay, I know double-posting is discouraged in general, but when you're now asking for a new hint about a completely different game, it makes a lot more sense to create a new thread for it then to edit your first post, especially if you only edit the hidden text in your first post.  Your chances of anyone noticing the edit are very low; I only happened to notice it by unlikely happenstance...

That being said, on to answer your second question:

Er...How the heck are you at the end of the game without having peeled the lemon?  How did you get past the troll?  You should have used the invisibility spell...but to find out what to combine for the invisibility spell, you should have used the lemon on the spellbook.  Did you just try combining ingredients at random?  Or did you find out the ingredients for the invisibility spell from a walkthrough?

In any case, if you haven't already done so (which apparently you haven't), use the lemon on the spellbook to reveal the words of the invisibility spell.  You should peel the lemon automatically when you do that.  (And if you've already done that and didn't peel the lemon...well, then I don't know what to tell you.  I guess you found a bug or something.)
