The Devil's Shroud.

There are former threads regarding The Devil's Shroud, but they aren't totallly reliable, as the game has been slightly changed lately.
I played the first three parts of the game before
Do you recommend we should play them all once again?
Well, the game has been slightly changed since the first release, but I think you can go on with the last part without playing the former ones again. It can be useful to read Galina's book. You can find it in Leo's inventory.
So far, and I'm halfway part 3, there aren't many changes. Nothing in particular, except for the dialogs with people which I think are now more annoying than before. Other than that, nothing worth replaying if you have already played the first 3.
Hi,
I'm on part I of your game and I can't figure out how do download the image from the digital camera. I took a pic of the symbol in the cell. I try to use it on the pc but nothing happens. Could you give me a hint?
When I go south of the room with the christening font, I see words that say "come with me" (or something like that) and the game crashes. I tried it several times with the same result. Is this a known problem? Is the game playable despite this?
If it helps, the message is "room 7 script 404"

- Start the graphics application.
- Click on A (acquire)
- When asked to select source, your inventory will open (or open yourself if not)
- Select the camera from your inventory and the picture will appear.

I've found the info on the cult but when I try to talk to the priest it says I should do more research. I have been, I think, to every room. There is a room with a torch that is missing but I can't bring the one from my apt. there. i've tried to search for the cult on the internet but nothing comes up. I've talked to all three priests with combinations of words about everything but, except for the one that I need to gather more info for, the character keeps saying I don't want to talk about it. Sorry for all the text but any help is appreciated.

And indeed, the torch from your room won't work since it runs on batteries. You're thinking in the right direction though..you need to make one. But only do so after you've spoken to Eldo.

At the abbey where you parked your car is a stick in the grass on the left.
Looking at the floor in the room with the torches, there's an oily patch.
Combine these and use your lighter...

I can't take the tranquilizers from home. He always says he doesn't need them. I see a chalice in the abbots room but when I try to take it nothing happens at all. I tried earlier with the same result. I don't see a chalice at the fountain. The interactive spot are the stone on the fountain and the tap. The font too. I can't talk to the abbot about anything without it saying I should talk to him later with more info. The other priest doesn't respond to my queries. Is it something I should do prior to the tranquilizer? My last actions were comparing the symbols from the room and book.
Did you inspect the crime-scene thoroughly? Talk to everyone about 'anselmo' Then make sure you get some evidence.
If it doesn't make sense, tell me what's in your inventory.
My inventory has keys, book on satanism, calling cards, credit card, 50 euro, camera, cell phone, remote control, notepad, travel agency card. I don't know what anselmo is but when I tried talking to them about it nothing happened---not even him saying I don't want to talk about it.
Talk to the abbot about Anselmo. He'll take you to the crime scene.

Walk through the door and walk to the left to see the victim. Look at the knife, the head and the blood next to it. Look at the wall to see the blood spray. Use the camera on the stain on the wall to take a picture.

In part 4 in the Library:
When You take form and fill it correctly, You receive newspaper and lose filled form from inventory.
Now, when You do the same thing second time (filling form with the same data), You receive newspaper,
but Your filled form is still in inventory, so the situation is that You have filled form and newspaper at the same time in inventory. I don't know if there will be need in future to fill another form for another(different) newspaper, but it is impossible to take another form to fill, when You have one form in inventory. So if someone try to have the same newspaper two times it would be impossible to fill different form.

Is there any way to speed up the game? Most AGS games have somewhere that you can change the speed settings. There is a LOT of walking back and forth. When he walks to and from the apartment to the abbey, there are about four rooms each time and the slowness is getting frustrating.

Bugs reported in reply 29 and reply 30 fixed. The fourth part of the game is likely subject to a few bugs. With your help I hope to fix all of them.

I ALMOST tried everything.
Crashed the game (#4):
While pressing the TAB key:
Error: InventoryScreen: one or more of the inventory screen graphics have been deleted.
Another thingie: Selecting the castle on the map and looking at the tower on the right gives an untranslated text.
The same goes for looking at the armor in the castle and the plates above the fireplace.
And another: Looking at the altar next to the gardener gives me: Altar moved down showing a secret passage.
I've no clue what I did but.....I'm sure that message is not supposed to be there.. (yet?)

steal the ashtray from the bar, buy some gypsum powder at the hardware store, put in in the ashtray and go back to the hotel. In front of it is a fountain. Dip the ashtray in the water.

Ask for the PLANIMETRY of the castle. You can take the key and make an imprint in the gypsum. If the gypsum has already hardened, go to the fountain and wet it again. Put the key back and take the plans. You will need them later.

Does that book have anything to do with finding the crypt in part I? I don't know how to locate the book to find the crypt. If it does help, can you tell me how to find it? I've just been dismissed by the abbot(?) as he said the police were coming to investigate.

what to ask father endo so he'll help me get back in at night. I've taken a picture of room in the book from behind the painting in the abbot's room. I can't leave until I find a way back in. I've looked all around and it seems, from the old threads, I need to talk to Endo. Do you remember what I need to say? my combo of words is failing and revolves around getting back in and the crypt.

I know that every hot spot is somewhat important at the certain time, but some more detailed info about what to do, or some hints in the game, would be very helpful

I looked at the floor plan and used it on the footbridge: "There must be a door"...
then a crash and a message pops up, but too short to read, next is a Microsoft message, "do you want to send the problem report?" Strangely enough, the game doesn't stop but is only minimized. I can open it again and continue.

I visited the pictures in the labyrinth. Still no map, so I tried to map it myself. Not so easy. But at least I got all the stones. Found the central crypt and Arthurs skeleton, lit up the crypt, put the mask over the skull and try to set up everything else. My next problem: Leo cannot remember the exact outline of the necromantic circle so I have to copy it. But how?
i have two bishops and one knight,where in the heck do these go on the chess board?

About the broken stairway

use the magnifying glass on the structure right and a little above to find a "handhold". Reach for it, it is too high. So you need a grappling hook. Take the two tips of the lances ("lances point"), combine them in your inventory and go to Virginias bathroom and take the rope. Combine it with the Y shaped tips. Another obstacle is the bat, perhaps you find out how to get rid of it, if not

Look at the emblem that you found when digging in the ground close to the shadow. You have to switch the buttons on the bas relief so that it closely resembles the red outline, then use the emblem on the bas relief. The picture is symmetric, so if you activate one claw, then activate also the other two.

Assuming you've dug up the red symbol? If you did, the relief is solved as follows:
The relief needs to get a similar shape as the symbol.

Make sure everything is depressed. Then from each dog push the back (body), the front leg and the back leg. That makes 9 buttons pressed. Then place the red symbol in the middle of the relief.

You have to find and look at each picture in the labyrinth. You will see the texts "Earth", "Fire", "Water", "Air". And have close look at the drawing next to "Fire"

I was able to find antichrist's grave (under the altar). I've put shroud on skeleton, then
copied circle from cementary into notebook and write it on the ground near skeleton.

Light up the central crypt. To do so, switch on the light in the small tower and direct the beam upwards. Use the mirrors from Virginias rooms to deflect the beam and light up the crypt.
The problem is

You cannot start the ritual, because the antichrist would not step into the light beam. But once you start the ritual, you cannot leave the circle until you have defeated the antichrist. So you need a timer device
You should be able to figure out the rest (or ask again)

back agin,i'm in the hole,the light is in the hole,put the alarm clock on the light panel,i'm in the circle and touch the ground with my staff,it say i must prepare,oh i got the shroud on the body,tryed with the light off,and the same thing.tried to take the dolls and could't.is there someone who can help please?

I HAVE read seven times the hits and tips, I have read how to do the bomb to frighten the wolf but I can’t buy the bottle or the muriatic acid. I haven’t find the niche but I’ve found the wet wood that I can’t pick up, I’ve seen the wolf, I have read the blue book, spoken and questioned everybody about the suicide, Immanuel, Arthur, etc. I have read the Vaduz news with the date after the suicide, I have heard and rewind the cassette, I’ve found the door with the map but I don’t have something harder to smash it, I can’t open the hollow on Virginia’s necklace. I put the figures on the chess and get the key of the left door where I’ve found another key. I entered the family chapel, I don’t know how to open the bas-relief, the poker doesn’t fit, sure the rose fits but I can’t get it yet because the gardener is working on the roses, I can’t find the scissors.
I downloaded twice the game and begun playing from the beginning thinking that I was doing something wrong… but know I am asking help from you in order to follow the game… that I like very, very much

At the fork with the wolf, try to go past the wolf to the right and make the wolf angry.
And: have you heard the explosion yet? The kids know how to build a bomb. Go and ask the girl. She doesn't want to share her secret until you give her a little present. Buy some chestnuts at the chestnut seller and give them to the girl. Now you can ask how to make a bomb and only then you can go and collect the necessary items.

I download till now part 1 but it say Corrapted file..

I've downloaded the first part and I haven't found any problem to extract the files. With the fourth part there was a problem during the extraction; I've downloaded it again and there wasn't any problem.

Read the paper from the portrait again. You saw the number 666? (The number of the beast) Examine the consoles. On each of them is a letter. Each letter corresponds to a Roman number, consult also Wikipedia. To form 666, press the buttons in the following order:
DCLXVI (500 + 100 + 50 + 10 + 5 + 1). It activates the lift. You can take a ride up or down. Up gives you only a nice view at the moment, but the top of the tower will become more important later in the game. So go down
