The Devil's Shroud (Part I)

Has anyone here ever played this game? I'm incredibly stuck. Right now the abbot has dismissed me, but my agenda, nonetheless, is to get into the crypt. My problem is that my character refuses to pick up the electric torchÃ,Â or lighter from his house. He also won't take the towels, or the stick at the driveway of the abbey...

I suspect the crypt is underneath the abbey... down the stairs where the torches and alter are there is a dark alleyway, but the character refuses to go because it is too dark.

Just started to play....Have used digital camera to photo marking on priests wall.Ã,Â Ã,Â Gotten a book out ofÃ,Â Investigators library on Satanism.Ã,Â Found oil on the floor of the little room off stairs in Abbey...and a missing torch.Ã,Â Will keep in touch if I get a little further.Ã,Â Jacquie Clarke

Go to the water fountain by the Christening font in the abbey and fill the chalice with a TRIPLE dose of the tranquilizers. Put the chalice back down and wait for the abbot to return for another drink. Watch him as he yawns a few times, then heads back to his chamber to pass out

Takara, read the book on Satanism, then go the computer. Choose the imaging option. Take your digital camera and upload the picture you took from the crime scene. Next, you want to upload a picture from the book there too. You need to now do a comparison between the two pictures to verify that the blood on the wall at the crime scene is part of a satanic ritual. After doing this, you've got to head back to the abbey. Make sure you've scoured all possible clues so that you actually have something to talk to the abbot about. Once you've discussed your findings with the abbot, he'll dismiss you.

When he reads the book he says "I don't see anything like the drawing on the cell door"... Using the computer I can get the image off the camera to load but when I do the same thing with the book nothing happens

Did you examine the blood on the dead monk's neck, and on the wall with the magnifying glass? Very important. Now the next step is to upload the blood picture, and then examine it with the computer's magnifying glass icon. You want to ZOOM IN to take a GOOD LOOK at the satanic symbol that was made of the smeared blood on the wall. Take a GOOD LOOK. Go to the library and get the book. Examine it with the magnifying glass. Get a picture of it. Take it to the computer and with the computer's magnifying glass, choose the button in the imaging program which allows you to COMPARE the book's picture to the blood one you've already got uploaded. The book closes. Click on graph, click on the photograph and okay.

Thank you! I missed one little step in all that and now I've progressed, woo!

I'm not all that good with games which don't give you a clue where hotspots are, I tend to miss things!

So a lot of stuff happened, and now I'm supposed to be going to Lyon... but the travel agent's phone is busy... so I guess I'm actually supposed to be doing something else first but once again, I've no idea what! Any idea?

What would we do without you Marie.? This is a very linear game so that if you don't do thongs in the right order, nothing can happen, I was trying to download the picture onto the computer too.....but I didn't examine the neck with the magnifying glass...Looks like you're out there all by yourself playing with no help from me....yet. I just downloaded this game too, so if you three keep playing and keep posting your hints I should be able to get through it too. I didn't download it because I thought it sounded a bit scarey lol but if you guys are playing it I should be able to too. sooooo keep posting

Click on the computer, and select internet explorer to get to Google; when the search engine pops up, type in the travel office, ' tourviaggi ' and click on OKAY. Your destination, obviously, is Lyon. Make sure you have your credit card number on hand.

I can't pick up the chalice because he says he doesn't need it.
Where is the tranquilizer?
Found the room where there is 3 indentations on the floor, don't know what to do there.
I get in my car to go back home and I click on home and it won't go. I am stuck at the abbey.
Told you I was completely lost!

And now this is why I dislike games where the hotspots aren't obvious... The place where you have to click to go home on the map isn't where you'd expect!Ã,Â It's in the grey splodge, kinda up and left a bit from the letter H.Ã,Â Just keep clicking lots and you'll find it eventually!

For the book on Satanism you need to check out the guy's bookcase at home.Ã,Â For the most part he says "It's just a bookcase" but there's one section which is his bit on Satanism where you'll find the book you need.
The game is *very* linear, so until you've got the book and done stuff with the photo on the computer you're not going to be able to pick up the tranquiliser.Ã,Â One thing I might add for when you get there... have you found your character's bedroom and bathroom?Ã,Â Took me a while to wander in the right place to magically find myself in new rooms!

Remember where your character was at the start of the game? Sitting on the couch in the living room, just off of the dining room while reading the letter of invitation from the abbot? Go sit back down on that couch and then click either with the mouse, or the lense, around the couch, and the credit card pops out.

Thanks for the help. So theres a bathroom and a bedroom, I wondered where he slept and showered lol. Now that I know I can get back home I will try and go on but its very frustrating when you have to click in a certain spot.

I found the book on satanism, looked at it, saw the picture of the symbal but I can't for the life of me take a picture of it with the camera. I have clicked all over that page and nothing happens. I have the picture of the blood stain on the wall and I was able to upload that on to the computer and I zoomed in on it like you said and I think I did that right because it then said it looks like the symbal I've just photographed. To be sure I'm going to make the matching with the computer. So how do you get the photograph of the symbal in the book? I haven't even found the bedroom or the bathroom yet because I have spent all my time trying to do the picture thing with the computer.
