I know that when you were in the dead monk's room, it was very important to touch and examine with the eyeglass, the blood on his neck, as well s that on the wall and to take a good look at both BEFORE taking the picture. Next, you the eye glass eyecon on the computer to EXAMINE the picture from the monk's room that is now uploaded to the computer. Take the book, touch it, examine it with the eyeglass. Take a picture of it... This should work now. Please let me know how you make out Joyce

I did all that in the dead monks room. I can get the picture that I took of the blood on the wall uploaded and I have examined it with the zoom and I get the message that it looks like a 9 and 6 interwoven etc. My problem is I can't take a picture of the symbol in the book. I am trying the camera on the open book on the symbol and nothing happens. Is that where you take the picture? Do you get a message when the picture has been taken? I thought maybe it had taken it but I only seem to have one picture in my camera, the one of the blood on the wall. Think I am gonna give up on this and try and get through the other one I am playing A Tale in the Zoo.

When you're using the computer, after uploading the picture from the camera and zooming in, press the acquire button again and choose the book as the image source.  This will load the image from the book onto the computer (he must have a scanner hidden somewhere or something!)

I wish I could help you, you wouldn't think that by picking up the book earlier in the game would stop you from looking at it. You are looking at it with the magn.glass not trying to open it with the hand aren't you?

I finally managed to compare the two pictures on the computer, I was trying to take a picture of the picture in the book not realising that you had to use the book with the acquire button. Duh. Working my own computer is hard enough but to have to work a computer within a computer is even harder lol

JC, what if you just look at the book, without opening it so that the character acknowledges it is a book on satanic rituals, and then take it over to the computer and acquire it's picture. Once you've done this, you should be able to read all about it. If memory serves, I don't think I could read until I did this. And somewhere along the line, I think I gave the wrong help in informing people to take a picture of the book's pictures. Like Joyce says, get it to the computer and acquire.

I got the water in the chalice, put the tranquilizer in, you said a triple dose, I tried the second time and he said I only want to sedate him not narcotic him. So I tried setting the chalice back down again and waited for the abbot to return but of course he didn't, then I thought maybe it was for the monk thats running around like crazy, so took the chalice to him and he said hes not thirsty. I saw a chalice in the abbots office, thats not the one is it?, I am using the one I picked up in front of the fountain. Marie next time you download a game make sure its an easy one lol

I was having exactly the same problem.Ã,  Before he'll look in the book properly you have to get the image from the camera onto the computer and then magnify the little splodge of blood to the bottom right of the big splodge.

Once you've done that and looked at it you need to examine the book again and he'll have a better look!

By reading Marie's earlier hint you're getting a little ahead of yourself!Ã,  The first tranquiliser is for Farther Eldo (I think that was his name!) - the mad guy wandering around a pillar at the top room

Yep figured that one out, I closed the window, so I was able to give him the drink and he told me his story. Now I went and put the chalice back because it said I should return it. Now I can't pick it up again to put the triple dose in it for the abbot. This game is driving me crazy.

Joyce, did you get something from Father Eldo?Ã,  Something that may contain a clue?
You need to find out what that note says and then go talk to the Abbot again

Its nearly 12:30 where you are, its time you went to bed lol. Just one more thing, do I have to return the chalice before I figure out the note thing and talk to abbot again?

I wouldn't have thought so... you should be fine carrying it around   If he starts refusing to do things then go put it back, but I wouldn't have thought it would cause a problem.  The game doesn't seem to let you pick things up early.

  Finally compared blood patterns...wow what a reliefÃ,  I guessed I needed to get tranquilizers from bathroom closet ....but no it's still just medicine........If I didn't have everybody here to help me I'd look like the Monk running around the columnÃ,  lol.. I am back at apartment, found credit card, I have looked at picture of where crypt door is, can't get flashlight or lighter. I do have a way back into the abbey but he keeps saying he won't go back until police are gone so I have obviously missed doing something in the apartment.

Jacquie - you need to go talk to the Abbot and then Father Eldo before the character thinks he needs tranquiliser which is why you can't pick it up yet

Joyce - He said something earlier about wanting to compare the picture he took with the actual room.  He's probably got an old cheap digital camera without a nice display on it, so you'll need to print out the picture.

I got into the crypt, I have put the cross in the thing in the niche. Theres a gate there which of course I can't open. I looked at the symbols on the wall, can't do anything with them. I did figure out how to get out of crypt again but I have no idea what to do next
