Tale Of Betrayal

Hi
I am being really stupid but i need help to untie myself from the barrel in a tale of betrayal. I know it has something to do with making the stripe sharp so the rope cuts on it, but i cannot click on the stripe. When i click on the barrel it describes the stripe but when i go to'use' the barrel it doesn't do anything with the stripe! Please help i am getting frustrated!!  :'(

well, when you face thowards the mirror, then try to click on the stripe (that is if you have already done a cut into the barrel)

Rachel Hamilton, here is how you get rid of the barrel:

(Getting the barrel off your back)

If you look at the barrel you'll notice that there is a small scratch in the upper metal stripe, yet it's not sharp enough to cut the rope. Looking at the inventory you have a ring, now face the door to the right and then USE the Ring with the Barrel.

It's time now to cut the rope using the scratch that you made, so face the Broken Mirror â€"a quick way for doing that is TALKING to the Broken Mirror-, once facing it USE the Rope.
