Thankx. I know I have to cut the rope of the hanging bale but the floorboard makes a crack sound. Is there any safe path?

I have absolutely no idea what to do when I search the bodies, find the second part of the letter and go up - the murderer goes upon me, I run to the house of the farmer and then every time I exit the screen, I get shot - where can I hide???

I try to hide behind the hay and then I head up the ladder but as soon as I touch the floorboard it squeaks.  I thought  maybe I had to do something w/the bucket...oil the floor maybe?  But I can't figure out how to pick up the bucket

So, don't touch the floorboard. There are a couple of boards in the loft that'll squeak, but it's just a case of picking your way round them. Take your time, and use the cursor to find them.

I just started game but I am stuck. I have Alan's letter, note from his front door, letter shred, knife and axe. I have been to the barn but what do I do next?

Talk to everyone about everything and then go back to the first house. Here he will say that he better get some rest. Then go to the hall way and click on he right door.

Alpha, I already talked to the guy in the house that used to play chess with his friend. Is there someone else to talk to? There's no one home in the house between the tool shed and his house.  Even still, I tried clicking on the right door and he says, "I don't need to go in there yet." I need your help...
