Title: The McCarthy Chronicles: Episode I
Post by: DazJ on Mon 30/11/2009 12:00:21
I cannot for the life of me work out what to do when:

Spoiler

I've just been awoken to screaming on my first night. I can't go downstairs or access any of the other rooms. When I try to head downstairs I'm told 'I have to help Sarah.'

Any suggestions please?

arjon be slightly wary.. some puzzles are ever so slightly different than when you tested it.

for example (HEAVY SPOILERS)
Spoiler

the papers in the library only appear after the visit to the mausoleum since it was possible to skip them entirely

and

you can only talk to michael about tabby after rumbling victoria about the papers

Ah, you quickly changed some stuff after my last testings which I do/did not know off ;)
Now I have to replay the game to see what has been changed... :D
Thanx for informing me about that.

Hmmm...

Spoiler

Read the papers in the library, rumbled Victoria who in turn gave me a page from a diary. However, I'm unable to speak to Michael about Tabitha, should there be an option there? I'm going around in circles trying to get into the Maursoleum. Any ideas?

I guess, I'm really sad, I can't even get into the grosvenor house (Calin, you've made a typo - it's  should be GroSvenor insted of groveSnor). But how do I get in?

Ha, The pronounciction is like GroSvenor, yet you type GroveSnor, which is a bit weird.

ANyway, thanks for the hint!
Spoiler
I'd not have thought of the gravel in the driveway, good puzzle!

But Now I'm stuck with this one: EDIT: not anymore

@Tina:

Which key, the one to the gate?

Hint:
Spoiler
combine inventory items to create a new one which you can use to get the key
[close]

Solution:
Spoiler
use the coat hanger with the vice to create a hook. In the basement use the hook with the grate in the floor and find the KEY of the gate.

Does anything important happen after
Spoiler
Tabatha says "All is forgiven to those who serve me."

at the end of the game? Because after that, the game quits and throws an error saying that SetMusicVolume must be between 0-100.

Oh, so nothing important.*
At least I got on a PC not in its death throes to finish it, so I'll be able to make my video review shortly. Don't worry, only game footage, none of a college student talking to a webcam. Sorry to disappoint all the ladies out there.

*If I didn't hate smileys, I would've put a winking face here.
