I got to the hotel on day 2 where the hotel is all dark, been to my room, found the secret passage back to the library, lit the candle, picked up the book. Now he doesn't want to go back and I don't know what to do. Help please.

I'm stuck too, literally. On a screen with some rocks, wood tied together on the right and a gold colored wooden bridge on the left. You can't cross the bridge (no reason) and north to the right of the bridge takes me back to the screen I'm trying to leave, as if it's a transition to the wrong room...

Anything I can do apart from restoring?

You have to walk down the staircase, go into the back room, and place the book in the bookshelf (you have to find the right area). Hope that helps!

What day are you on?
Depending on which day you are on the woods change their paths, so places you went before, you cant get to now.

I think it's still day 1. Just after I lost a ghost.

Yeah, you cant go back after that point. You have to let the ghost of the villager follow you into the forest where you will lose him, then go across the bridge into the forest. Make sure you enter all possible areas before continuing, because the path can change.

e.g walk to the area up the top with the river, then go back out, walk along again.

Yeah, you succeeded in that :-)  Point is, I can't go anywhere (so it seems). I can't cross the bridge and can't walk to the right past the tied trees. I can only walk north but it doesn't lead anywhere..., just the same screen again (next to the bridge). I can't cross the bridge, follow the river or anything..

Hmm upload a  screenshot of where it happens. Have you tried walking north of the wicker mans hut?

OK this sounds like a bug. What you could try doing is walking to the left of the bridge, and walking right down to the far right. Then try going north again. If you return in the same place again it could be a bug. Strange but people have already got past this. Ill try to replicate it.

OK this sounds like a bug. What you could try doing is walking to the left of the bridge, and walking right down to the far right. Then try going north again. If you return in the same place again it could be a bug. Strange but people have already got past this. Ill try to replicate it.

Sorry, looks like youve got stuck there. Im afraid the only thing you can do is do a restore. You may have left the last area without picking up a vital object, hence it keeps returning you there. Sorry

You have got the key from the ghost right? Well you wont be able to open the door with the key just yet until you find the ghost child. Hint..You can find the ghost child near the hut. (look in your inventory for items of destruction!)

I'm on Day 2, and I am at the Wicker man's house - next to the well and the circular window.

I use torch to look down the well, and he says that there is 'something down there, it doesn't look too far.'  

But I can't get to whatever is down there.  He won't climb down the well himself, and he won't tie rope to the window to lower himself down.

This game it pretty annoying when it comes to that sort of stuff. You have to click the rope somewhere in the well. I just kept clicking in random spots, walking away, trying again.. Eventually you will be able to use the rope on the well, but you can tell that this hasn't really been tested too well.

I got down the well, and got a big steel bar.  There is door with padlock, and when I use padlock key, he tells me he should come back later.

I'm already stuck near the beginning.  The cab has dropped me off, I've walked north through the woods and come to a screen with a locked door at the top.  I can't go right or left, just down to the other screen and can't open the door.  Can anyone help, please?  Thanks.

You need to break into the building from the west side, using the crowbar I believe. Then after that scene you can go back down the well.
