got across the river with the plank from fence. Filled yellow bowl with porridge, threw it at the vulture, I think I did that 3 times but I used up all my porridge so had to go back and get more. I also have two red berries. Have been to the other part of the river where there is a goat carved on the mountain. Any hints?
I'm stuck here too. When you threw the porridge at the vulture, did he go away???? I got tired of going up and down that mountain, so didn't do it too many times. Go to completed games, the author will help us...... TTYS Rosie

got a little further scared falcon away but don't know how to get across top of waterfall. Do I somehow have to get Emily to cross the river and get her to where the goat is carved on the mountain? Ã,Â

when you are going up the mountain, did you go to the little plateau at the right, get berries (haven't used them yet) but there is a crack there, look at it and get a stick, use the stick on the hollow log where the falcon is, keep using it and it finally scares him away, then you can walk up that path, thats as far as I have got

I used porridge on the long branch of tree, falcon came down and took it, I went back up mountain, falcon was back sitting there again, so had to go get another stick and chase him away again. I also discovered before you go over the plank you can go left behind rock and you come out on other side of river. Tried using porridge to make the mountain sticky to climb up but that didn't work. I have no clue what I am doing here. But you can go and get sticks again as long as falcon is back sitting there and you can go back for more porridge if you use it all up on something

yep, did all that.....you can go on either side of the water but this game is suppose to have 100 rooms..??? why are we so stuck>????? Good thing its cold out and we can't garden....(lol) He better answer us on these questions.

Ok got goat to come with me to riverbank. opened up the mountain and am inside now. There is a puzzle to do
I'm not good at these things. What is it refering to? Colors and shapes?? Help please. Also am I suppose to interact with that big jumping thing? The path after the puzzle is not open does it open if you get the puzzle right??

The big jumpy thing? If this is the statue with icicles on it to the left of the puzzle? then look closely and you will see the goal to the puzzle.

I have been to the goat cave, I have called Emily from the other side of the river and she won't budge. I have walked up and down the other side of the river taking one step at a time, stopped, called and she still won't move. So I have tried calling her from every position there is on other side of river and nothing.I don't know what I am doing wrong, I have in my inventory, a stick, a pole which I got from tree, berries, and a bowl of water.Getting kinda frustrated.

Sorry about this when I said 'farside' I was refering to the House as the reference point ie. the farside from the house or the same side of the river as the cave. Everything's relative, anyway this should trigger the cutscene. If this is not working then there must be a bug and you will have to play through from start. Again apologies for any confusion caused.
{hide} The goat jumped over the river towards me and crashed into the goat figure on the wall, causing it to open. Then the poor goat floated away in the river. I don't know how I got the goat to jump across. Maybe I touched the rocks>>>?? It just happened and I dont know how. Anyway I am now stuck in the mountain because there is a puzzle to figure out and I am not good at those. Plus What are all those yellow squares in the inventory???? Another puzzle???

To the left of the puzzle room is a large statue, use the LOOK on the purple part of the screen. When the screen scrolls up there is the solution to the puzzle along the top of the statues head.You might need to do this a few times before you can write down the answer. Once you have the answer its quite easy to mess around with the puzzle stones to complete the puzzle.

Thank you so much. Went back to another save to see how I got the goat to jump over the river, and I did nothing. I went over to the goat etch side and the goat was over to the other side and the Clock went on and I said Emily and she just jumped over on her own. So I didn't have to do anything to get her to come over. Joyce, are you reading this??

I have opened up the stairway in the cave (the one that goes up around the clown thing) and seen the dispenser that looks like my egg but it also says there is a key hole and i don't have a key. I can't leave the cave because it says the egg pulls me back, am i missing something? I have a bowl of water, the long twig, blue egg, and a tarot card of strength...Am i supposed to do something at the end of the cave (it is still caved in)?

Thanks for all your help guys, looks like I may have a bug, I don't know, all I know is the goat was following me, it stopped at the mountain and has been stuck there. I think I got a message saying Emily wouldn't cross or something like that. Or is it because did the other stuff first, is there a special order you have to do things. I went up mountain and left Emily stuck at the left side of the river and got rid of vulture, got branch etc [/spoiler]

Cross the plank and leave Emily on the other side(the side she starts on). Then walk along the path up the screen and round to the left so you enter the cave entrance screen on the right handside of the river. If this fails to trigger cutscene then you do have a bug.

Have you got the plank from cave, if so you can get back to the farm yard and use that long stick to get the hat. Sunshades will look after themselves.
The yellow squares screen is not important, it's just a sort of screen to show you which tarot cards you have collected so far, there are 22 in total.
??? Okay I have 7 of 8 pieces using the snail and I have moved all the leaves around, been through it about a dozen times and still cannot find that last piece...any clues?? Thanks !!

Have you not got the Vulture to break the branch(tree) yet ? I get confused who has done what. You need to throw porridge at left end of branch then go to mountain top,scare Vulture, come back to branch(tree) watch cutscene, get pole then, get hat.

Principles of leverage apply here, the branch will break only if the vulture lands on the end of it, not the middle, so target the porridge throw at the extreme left end of the branch.
Fun game so far - quite challenging. Ã, I'm a little bit confused about what to do with the tarot cards.

I found all of the pieces with the snail (a very cute and fun puzzle - very enjoyable!) and pieced them together to create the tower tarot which I assume will help me to open the door, but how exactly do I use it?

How do I communicate the magic code to the girl? As a snail I can't seem to do very much unless there is a hotspot that I'm missing. I thought I might be able to somehow spell it out in snail slime for her on the ground or something :) but I can't seem to do that

Here I am again. I am in the new world. Landed on a big rock. There are trees. Everywhere I walk, I end up in the same place. Back by the rock????? What am I missing? I used hand and got some gravel from the rock, but that's it.

Aye indeed you have found a bug, I've fixed and updated the download, but I suggest for compatibility reasons you keep with your current version, unless you want to play through again, and don't get eaten by the Spongoids(green monsters) or it will crash again.

You can put the egg in the sand near the cave entrance. Then you will need to go round to the top of the cliff and throw the stone(flint/wedge thing) onto the egg.

When you look at the top left leaf, you get a different message, to the other leafs. You need to find which leaf after the top left one is the next in the chain. You will have to start again with the top left leaf each time you lose the chain. It doesn't take long to find the sequence of 6 leaves.

There are 6 areas on the door poster, the snail is short sighted so has to walk onto each area to read the whole poster. There is a different 'Ah','Oh',"Arr' message for each area so that you know you are progressing.

I got the 8 pieces of paper, but before I got the last piece I had the snail on the door and touched it and it opened. I went upstairs and talked to magician. Got the magician tarot card, then went back to bush and put snail in it to find that 8th piece and he did. I put the pieces together in the puzzle which was a picture of the tower, But it wouldn't let me out of the puzzle frame....Why????? Now my machine is stuck in that frame......

The pieces will lock into place, so you cannot pick them up, once they are correctly positioned, try moving the pieces a little bit until they lock in position, there is a line already on the card for the base cards to sit on.
p.s. I found a bug in this to day where by if you get a piece stuck under a locked piece, so you cannot see any of it, it will effectivly be impossible to complete, but if you can still see all the pieces you should just be able to shuffle them about a bit to complete the puzzle.

Just flip the leaf so the piece of paper is on the left, then come out of bush back to Ma,get her to put you back in then catch the last piece on the jump from the previous screen.

Wretched, I must say this is really a great game and thinker..i like how you have to go back to certain areas to get through the puzzles..makes you think. love the snail bit. Have to give you credit also on how fast you respond to everyones needing hints. Great game so far, im just a wee bit stuck in the area where the auto-mated doors are which i think im supposed to trap a snail? dunno yet..gonna work on it now..Thanks for making this great game!!

I have been stuck in the cell for ages, I have a cup of water and fungus. I put fungus in cup of water and it just sinks to the bottom. This is probably so simple but I can't figure it out

in one of the cardboard boxes there is packing, use that to stuff in the holes
I was in the hallway, went into one of the rooms, came out, I had no icon bar at top where you have inventory and save and restore etc. Then game crashed on me, but I got no error msg. I had to alt escape to get back to windows.
Had to reboot and game seems to be okay again.
If anybody has got passed this part please help because I am completely at a loss

I have trapped worm but hes afraid of me, have found the secret passage with the coloured buttons - have no clue what to do there, found the other secret tunnel that I am too small to get into. Found the door that is bolted. Used the acetylene torch on it but no idea what its doing except burn baby burn (lol) Saw aliens and got the key fob thingy and 4 cards. I think I need a lotta help!!
steel door is tricky..and yes AGS is very sloooow getting on to..i thought it was my puter..lol..and i have dsl...

use the torch on the bolts till they turn white..must be quick because they change back in color..once i had them all yellow i just went in circles to get them all white..good luck..

OMG - 8 pieces of paper, I have TWO and I am totally lost in that maze, I might as well give up now. I did find my way out once and Ma said there was still pieces missing. I was free of the cell but then computer crashed and I am now back in there..................I have tried everything and can't think what the devil I'm doing wrong - have blue cup funghi and hot water, mixed stuff and nearly passed out, mixed it again but unable to do anything else with it. Got a message that I must be careful or something but when I go to force field I keep getting message that I'm not desperate or knowledgeable enough..........what am I doing wrong??????? [\hide]

Ma has to learn everything she can about the force field before she will attempt to use the brew, this means i) looking at forcefield, ii)attempting to walk through it, iii)Looking at the message on the Justice Tarot card, iv)Seeing the little Worm run through it.

I am at this door and trying to figure out the "code" or what to do with this button that doesnt do anything. I assume I am supposed to somehow relate the big door with the paper from the hand but i cannot seem to make the connection....any help?
All my inventory has disappeared............is this a bug??????????? I'm at the point of trying to burn the bolts and work the combination

to burn the bolts you have to get them all to turn to white, you have to be quick, i followed the earlier hint and got them all to yellow then quickly went round them and got them to white. I was surprised how quickly I was able to do that part. lol

you need a key to turn the tank on and drive it, you get the key in the room where the two coloured rocks are, which are really aliens, there is a cut scene and I think it was after that the key and some cards appear
Hello Joyce :D..have you gone any further with this game after the maze with the worm? i am still stuck. have no clue what to do with that door with buttons..hope wretched gets on soon! its probably gonna be something so easy that goes over our heads..

Noooo I am still stuck in the maze, did the pieces of paper you picked up in maze not give the clue for the door, I thought thats maybe thats what they would be. I haven't tried the map that wretched posted yet, but I will give it another go. I'm usually okay with mazes but not 3D ones.Maybe wretched will post a saved game after the maze. Or maybe I will hire a guide lol

I've matched the colours and symbols in the cave, got the flint and taken the post but I need sunglasses and have'nt a clue where to find them I've read things about an egg, opening a staircase, but in the cave once the roof falls down there's nothing I can do.

I rubbed the red berries into the faded sign, then I went to the right, saw the flint, poured water on it and got it, then I I went back and realised I could match the colours above the dripsicles to the shapes, so I went back and did that then I went right again and found I could get the stick holding up the roof so I went to the hat and found I needed something for the sun. I went back to the cave but there's nothing I can do cos the roofs fallen in and that's where I'm stuck.I've read the help posts and somewhere there is mention of a clunk or clicking noise when you match the colours. I didn't get that so I don't know if I've done things in the wrong order or I'm being completely stupid and missing something obvious. Any help would be welcome. Do you think I may need to start again?

this is just a guess but the shapes have to be in the correct order according to what you saw at the top of the icicles, I can't remember if I had to change those or not, but you should have your shapes and colours matching what you saw at top of icicles. Then you hear a clunk and click and a panel should open
Don't think it matters what order you have done things i.e. picking up flint and plank etc.
I loved this game really, untill the arcadeshooting game which makes me crazyÃ, ;D Tried so many times (days ecxactly) without any result. Someone mentioned you're gonna get points for it? I diddent see anyÃ, ???

I got 4 cards (sun, moon, etc.,) I have blocked the holes and the worm is in dark room. I keep getting you can't reach from here. Now I found the door with numbers/dashes, but everyone is talking about a paper with numbers ??? Where do you get that paper ??? In which room ??? I have restarted from looking through window and still cannot see that creased paper with numbers ??? Also How do I get the worm ??? So far I thru the cup over the cardboard box which is now soggy but still cannot do anything :-X

After you get the cardboard box soggy, did you leave the room and come back, worm should now be in the box, use your hand icon on box and you will something in there, when you get that you will see worm, you will need what you got in the box to get through the metal door with the bolts, that is where you will get paper, and something that will enable you to get worm.

thats okay, you don't get worm yet. Use the torch on the steel door that has the bolts (door is left to the end) you have to get all the bolts white, then it will open. Try turning them yellow first and then quickly do like a circle really quickly to turn them white

I opened the panel, used the key with the tank and got into the battlefield. I got fed-up of being damaged. Could not get out of it until I did a 'reset' on my computer because I could not get out of the game. Was I supposed to pick up the paper or something (arm) before I got into battlefield?????

You can always press Ctrl-Alt-End to end an AGS game, no need to do desperate moves like resetting your computer.
I think there's nothing you need for that game, just play it and win it.

Yes that can be won, and you probably need to play it at least once more in the game, I don't think it can be skipped.
Just practice, it's not
that difficult, whenever an enemy comes close, shoot it first. The difficulty of it is
nothing compared to something you'll encounter later in this game.

Yes you have to get through this shooting game with the tank to continue with the game, its when you finish it you get to pick up what you will need to get the worm. Just keep trying, it took me quite a few trys. You can do it, this is the easy one lol.

To get the hat you have to stand infront of the fence below the hat and use the pole. Provided you have done all the cave puzzles and got the sun shades.

It's a pitty ..., it was really nice to play this cute and timeconsuming game, but my right shoulder doesn't allow me to go further. It's like eating your most favorit dessert from which you can only eat the upperhalf cause that other half is covered with an uneatable layer Ã, ;D

Is there really an end to the Worm Maze ???
This would be a great game but now it is just one frustration after another.Ã, The maze and arcades puzzles are just ridiculous.Ã, I spent so much time in the worm maze (and I only got 6 papers)Ã, that I forgot where I was in the game and what I was trying to find.
If anyone has a saved game right after the worm maze, please let me know otherwise I am just quitting this game.

I quit the game because of the arcade/shooting "episodes".
If I had come to this forum earlier and found out that there were such parts, I wouldn't have downloaded the game at all.
Wretched, no offence meant and nothing personal, but if you have followed the AGS Forums, you should know that such sequences have become quite unpopular, I could say obsolete. They were part of gaming at quite an earlier stage of game-concept development. What really matters nowadays - shall I say the "modern" gaming concept - are story&characters, puzzles, art work.

Over in completed games Wretched offered a saved game after the worm maze to anybody who sent a PM with their email address. I was stuck in the maze for a few days lol, but I eventually made it out. After that there is no more arcade games until the very end which is where I gave up :(
After completing the WORM maze, and if you get the 8 pieces of paper from it, it is the Wheel of Fortune card that you get or is it something else?

I got the flint and the pole that was holding up the rocks but now I cannot continue that way because its blocked. If I try to leave the cave with the egg, it says I must leave the egg with the cave. Wow I must be a retard because I got the tarot card for the tower but still can't get in with what I'm trying to do. if the key to the tower door is the snail and when i try to use him on the door, all he does is crawl all over the map on the inside which is no good to him now. I used him with keyhole, hold at bottom, nothing works. I thought once I had the tower puzzle solved I could get in but can't. What am I missing?

[there are two secret places, one is behind a bookcase, you have to pick up one of the books I think, you don't need to go there yet, the other one as far as I can remember is in the last door on the left, its a kinda table thing, you have to open it, and you will get message saying its too small for you to go in, thats where you use the worm[/spoiler]

For the number stuff, you don't need to make the displayed characters looking like arabic numerals (it's alien planet afterall), just coutn how many strokes was lighted up in each place.

All the numbers look like 8's or 3's so does that mean the answer is a number that contains 3' and 8's? How can you make a 1 out of it or say a 2? Sorry, I'm so confused with this.

I'll try and explain lol. Forget trying to make it look like a number, that was where I went wrong too. I thought it was like a digital clock and thought I had to put in numbers.
All you have to do is light up the dashes (for want of a better word) So if your first number on your piece of paper is 1, then light up one dash, then click on middle red button, then you should see a message saying "Click" then you know you have done it correctly. Then hit the red button again to get rid of the "Click" message. Go to the next one, and if your number is 3, light up 3 dashes and so on. Don't worry about the xxx, I think you can put any numbers in and it will work. This was explained to me in the thread in completed games by Stephanie, maybe you should check it out you might understand it better.

The long pole you need is the branch on the tree. To get it you need to throw some porridge at the far end of the branch, then scare the Vulture away by repeatedly hitting the log with the dry stick.

You just grab the leaf as it flies by. I just kept moving and grabbing till I got it.
The poster is by the tent with the jester. You have to do something to remove it.
I've been thoroughly enjoying this game(thank you for the "skip" options BTW),I am however stuck at the combination,I can get the first number on the paper to register on the display(ie..it clicks and displays blue figures)....but can't get the other numbers to do anything. Sorry to pull the tips back a few sections,but the hints kindly supplied a couple of pages back don't appear to work...any extra help would be appreciated.

Hmm, the procedure for the second number is the same as the first, just count the number of lit LEDs. I suggest you double check your counting.

The Inn Keeper said he knows someone who accepts pictures in payment. The Guard is a little slow and will accept the Priest Card , 'A Signed Picture' as a 'Shiny Pitcher'.

I am in England, met the Queen & King, they asked if I saw their kids, and I can only ask how may I serve and may I leave.
Got corn on hangman and the crows are all over him.
Fixed the Fool's cane but he tells me to keep it for awhile.
Don't know what to do with it.
The princess is making out in the woods. Says she lost her clothes. Got stuck on a floating goat (Emily I presume).
The priest doesn't drink anymore and does nothing else.
The bartender is still saying the same things as when I first went to his bar.
I have 3 leaves as the hermit won't let me have the 4th (last) one.
I am just going around in circles.
A few hints would be very helpful.

You need to get a snail. Use the Jester's stick to get a snail. The snail will be on the rock in the river in the forest OR on the stone Arch. Use snail to get the last leaf from the Hermit.

My snail found all 8 pieces of paper from the bush but trying to get them to "click" into place to make a card is more than excessively frustrating. I'm about to give up on the whole game because of this... is there some sort of game bug? Or is there some special technique? It does not make any sense why this should be as hard as it is... or as tedious.
Please help if you can. :-\

There shouldn't be any difficulty in completing the card. Take care to place the bottom row of pieces over the black line that is already on the card as an aid to placement. Then the rest should drop into place, once in place you cannot pick up the pieces so you can suffle the others about to fit.
Thank you Wretched, but it just will not work for me.
I have the two base pieces of the castle standing on what I assume is "ground" level, meaning they are resting on top of the black line.
Not a single piece of this puzzle will snap into place. This so frustrating :-\

I got all the pieces and put together the tower card, I put the snail in the keyhole and he said "ahh, ohh, etc" then he said "eureka!" but now he can't tell Ma what he found because he can't talk. She takes him from the keyhole and says he looks excited, but, what next?

I have been stuck on the door with the combination for what seems like forever and nothing is working. Is there something I missed before I got to the door? If the first number on my piece of paper is a '4', then I clicked the green button below until 4 slashes lit up and clicked the middle red button but nothing happened. I've tried ever number and still nothing. Help!!!

Sounds like you have the right idea, you need to put all 4 numbers in, in some old versions of the game sometimes the code had only 3 numbers, in whichcase the first number needs to be a 0. (e.g. 376 is really 0376). Make sure you have the wheel of fortune tarot card or you will be sent back to purpoid.

You need to align the leaves (top right screen) (using the action cursor) so that the drip falls from leaf to leaf then drops down to make a jump on the screen below.

The Wheel of Fortune card is in the 3D Maze, you need to have caught the little Worm, which you can pop into the small passage way, behind the picture, in the leftmost of the 4 rooms, (use red book again).
i have made it sooo far on all the other hints and tips but seem to be stuck at getting the poster from the jester.i have it "loosened" and i have tried to use everything i have on it,but to no avail. ???

I've read this thread over and over but I cant get all the pieces of paper on the snail maze or even get back out! I managed the "me go look" puzzle and now the snail has five pieces. I alligned the top leaves but the drip won't fall. Help! I want to progress or at least get out! :'(

At the drip, from top to bottom the leaves should be positioned right,left,left, right. This should make the drip fall.

I've only got the porridge in the bowl, and that's it. The hat won't budge, the sheep won't go out of the fence, and I can't seem to extract a plank from it. She keeps saying that she's afraid to break it. Help please.

If I remember correctly the bug was caused by looking at the Tarot cards, so don't look at them in the princes room and it should work. And to be on the safe side, walk towards the dead goat before getting the card.
I am completely stuck at the door with the torch...I can't get the colors to all stay white. My mouse tends to stick...so I may never get past this point if it relies totally on the mouse...if anyone has any more tips or a savepoint just after they all turn white...please let me know. Thanks!

I'm in the old england, found a snail but a crow ate it when I tried to get to the leaf, I found the bottle but gave it to the bartender, was I not supposed to do that? I have the card piece from the screen to the left of start, and the next three on the path. I make the drip fall, but when I go down to the gap with the card on the other side, the branch isn't wet. I can't go anywhere else, or escape from the bush. I've re-downloaded and started over, but I still have the same problem.

go to the top where the drip is. Move first leaf. Go down and move the third and fourth leaves, skipping the second. At the gap place, you need to chew the leaf not move if you're stuck there.
If you need help on the paper near the end where you jump out of the bushes

turn the leaf so the paper is pointing upwards then go back to the water slide and you'll fall on that paper.

Okay, here's the answer to your question:

You don't give the guy a "Shiny Pitcher" you give him a Signed Picture. Try getting the Priest to sign your Hierophant card and give that to the corn guard. Though you learn that you'll need another card, that's the only way to get the corn.
