*SIGH* There's absolutely nothing wrong with constructive criticism, it's only when you and Vel were saying the KQIII project was awful without any real justification that we got pissed. I'm not gonna delete any criticism as long as it has a reason...

Vel

Sorry for goin off-topic, but my second critic post *WAS* constructive. Oh, and btw, whats up with this guy?

I would like to add (if I may) that although the trailer was purely excellent. After thinking about it, it does give an impression that all we will get in this remake is better graphics and thats it.

Although I did mention that graphics are important to update in most remakes of this kind (and they are up to standard).
You will probably need more. Some people could be disappointed if thats all that new. Just graphics. Some people probably won't even bother downloading it for that reason. Do you plan any extra puzzles at all?

Please try and do a little of what tierra did to KQ2 when you've done all the graphics and basic bits. That would be sweet and I'd be licking your boots if you do.

OK I'll shut up now.

I strongly disagree. SQ3 has a really good plot and puzzles, but you can consider adding digital music pack.

AGA

I agree, SQIII was probably the best SQ game, the plot and puzzles should be left intact. It should be a VGA remake, not an enhancement.

agsking

I tottaly agree, remake all the way. And this rocks, I just love the art, you have real talent! A music speech pack would be very nice, but you would have to get a Roger impersonator  ::)

Khaveen

Don't forget that KQ2 was very similiar to the original KQ1. It just had another plot and graphics, but the very main idea was the same: Graham must get the three items to win the game. And it was very easy to pass the game for players who passed KQ1. That's why Tierra enhanced the plot: they just didn't want to repeat Sierra's mistake. And SQIII isn't that bad. It has an original and funny plot! Well, of course I'll try to make it even more funny - because I added 'smell' and 'taste' icons! Imagine yourself clicking everywhere in Monolith Burger by these cursors! (Yuck!  ;))
Now about music/speech pack. A digital music pack is possible if Tom Lewandowski will agree to do it for me, (along with MIDI music from the original game) though I'm afraid he's busy with Quest for Glory II VGA now.
A speech pack is not that simple thing. I don't think I can make it. I just can't imagine who will do it for me.

"When it's done." I just can't give you a release date at the moment.
P. S. Besides, Vel, why didn't you say you wrote about SQ3VGA in your september ezine??? I mean, I'm an author and all...  ;) Well, thank you very much !!!

Vel

I did not? Oh well..
Anyway, what is the progress so far?
I thought a few days ago that this project is dead(yes, I am ashamed of it)

Khaveen

No, the project isn't dead. I just was busy making the site  ;)!

Because of the site, the game is going slower than I intended. Now I have to not only work on the game, but also updating the site and moderate the forums!  :o Fortunately, I have found a good AGS programmer, he'll do a navigation system and the robot fight.

P.S. You know, I haven't found any message with space screenies in my mailbox. Are you sure you're mailing to me?

Will there be some way to skip over the robot fight, or put it on auto pilot or something? I really enjoyed the original, but I was never ever able to beat that part.

I HATE arcade sequences. :P

By the by- awesome graphics, man!  Can't wait for it to come out!

Me too.  To this day I have not finished SQIII because I couldn't get past the damn fight.  By the way, anyone with a save game right after it, feel free to help me out here!

The key to winning the robot fight is to set the game speed to slowest.
