We just announce:

Otaku Rivals

The Story:

Kintaro Oe finds himself trapped in the real world at a university (well game real world) along with numerous other famous anime characters. The university anime club quickly assigns Kintaro to investigate the strange occurrence of appearing anime characters. Help him find the truth and also to return the famous characters back to their the anime world.

Team:

calacver (also known as arramor) : scripting, dialoque, sprite graphics, game design
mordalles : backgrounds, dialoque, game design, manga artist
additional help from maleko : game design
no music yet in production

FEATURES:
- 320x200
- lots of interesting characters including those from the most famous anime
- nice backgrounds  ;D (thanks to mordalles)
- funny dialoque and interesting puzzles
(i just summed up all adventure games  :D)

Additional Information:
As students and part of an anime club at our university, we decided to create a game for the club including most of the people active in it. The game introduces some famous anime characters, for example Alucard from Hellsing, and Kintaro Oe from Golden Boy. This is a general ANIME FAN GAME, but in an adventure environment.

WOOOOOOW this is something that we looked for.
Can you please put some Wolf's rain characters in your game cause they are unique.

thanks ljubi

we haven't included wolf's rain characters in the plot thus far. Too be honest I've never seen it.

we chars from hellsing, furi kuri, golden boy, cowboy bebop, beserk, GTO, etc.

Its bothersome because we can only put in so many :)

Cool idea, I really like it.

That Alucard looks great, I'm really curious what you'll do with Guts!  ;)

But, hmmm, since I'm more into "retro" anime, is there any chance we'd get to meet Maetel at some point in the game?  ;D
Everybody else is having one, so why not me?

i am again sorry to say no, no maetel. I feel like i am dissapointing the world. NOOOOOO!

Gutz is one of my favourites so hopefully he won't dissapoint in game :)

update:
We added a lot more bgs and some more character sprites. Scripting advanced a little. Overall we are about 45% done, i guess.

Heh, can't have everything!   ;)

Besides, with so many great characters out there, it must be hard enough to decide on which to have in the game!
(At least I couldn't make up my mind, I guess  ::) *lol*)

The previous screen of alucard will be resized to 114x200, but it still looks nice in game :)

Below is another screenshot.

We have completed some more rooms, one room remains to be done and a few more characters. After that its scripting all the way.

the game is finished. We just have to do some spelling checks, and one last manga pic. We'll release it next week. It won't be a very long game as we only had about three weeks to make it in. :)
