I am in the section where
Spoiler: ShowHide
the head in a jar is trying to open the doors by getting all the green lights on. Is there a pattern or is this random?
I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Michael

You basically have to get this pattern:

0#00#

On the far left side and then fill in the blanks (#) on the right side terminal

Andrea:

Spoiler: ShowHide

1. Get one of the clamps that held the the blue guy's hands to the wall.

2. Use it on the pipe. It fits, but it's loose. You need to tighten the clamp around the pipe.

3. Give it to the dying robot. He'll do that for you.

Hello,
I've been playing Visitor 3, nice game.
I'm stuck, though, and I need help!  This is where I am:
Spoiler: ShowHide
Head and Moss have arrived to that ship(?) with escape pods, head went through the almost closed door and then got the thing on its face. Then I talked to Moss and now Moss has it on his face! I entered the code into the terminals and activated something. I entered the vent with the Head but I can't seem to do anything there because of the alien with one of the agent's head. I clicked on everything and used mint on everything. Moss can't do anything because of the alien on his head, and he needs a voice command to activate terminals and escape pods. HELP!!!

Answer:

Send Head through the vent in the room at the far left. If you can get him through the elevator shaft (solving a few puzzles on the way) then he will meet up with Moss and be able to help him. They will be meeting up in the room to the far right of the room with the escape pods

I'm being a bit vague here hoping that this will steer you in the right direction, under the assumption that you just want a hint rather than full solution. If you're still stuck then post again!

Hello SKYY,

I just wanted to clarify why it did work...

Spoiler: ShowHide
After you got the first light bridge to activate, you need to walk all the way to the right and stand over the next electrical device. By getting the hand to jump up and down on top of it, it activated the second one. ;)

I'm sorry to hear that. Can you explain a little further. Are you on top of the ship?

I've never had an issue switching cursor modes on top of the ship...hmmm.

Are you right clicking to change modes, and then the problem happens?

Can you give me a little more detail of your location?

EDIT: I'm sorry spanishgirl, I tried everything I could, but I'm not having any problems on my end with the cursor modes on top of the ship.

I'm sorry again, but the pictures aren't showing. Without looking at the pictures it's kind of hard for me to understand where you are. There is no top menu when Head is on top of the ship, so I'm a bit confused.

If you're having trouble posting pictures, try to explain exactly where you are.

Can anyone else see these pictures, or is it just me?

I'm starting to wonder if you were using shortcuts on the keyboard instead of just the mouse? ..maybe this has something to do with it?

Because at that point in the game, there is no drop down menu, so I'm confused that you mentioned you were using it. I'm really sorry, but I have no issues at all changing cursor modes, and nobody has ever mentioned this before.

Hopefully one the genius AGS forum members can make sense of what may have happened here. I'm very sorry again, and hopefully we can figure this out.

Did you change any settings in winsetup before starting the game? I don't know if it matters in this case but changing the graphics driver can cause all kinds of weird bugs.

Nop, I didn´t change anything, usually I run the .exe and if the game works I let everything as it is. Maybe I needed to change the settings? but the game run great until this point. I guess I´ll re-install it, I wasn´t very far in the game so it´s ok, I just hope I can finish it because I really like it!

Hi,
I encountered just the same error as spanishgirl. The drop down menu in this scene sometimes shows up, sometimes not. Maybe it has something to do with the possibility to access the menu via "Esc"? Hope you can fix this as I liked the game very much so far!

I did notice that by pressing Esc, you can bring up the games menu screen at points in the game that I don't want people to be able to. I have taken away these shortcuts and uploaded a new version.

Hello Mike,

It does take some quick action..
Spoiler: ShowHide
You need to press the button and quickly switch icons to walk left and switch again to the interact icon to grab it. You can press on the USB cable from across the room once it comes into view, so you don't have to wait for Commander Moss to walk to it. Press the button, switch to the walk icon and walk to the left, while he's doing that, switch to the interact icon and grab the USB once it's on the screen. If you're not using a mouse, I guess this can get tricky to do, but hopefully there's still enough time to manage it for those who aren't. This is the only timed puzzle in the game you'll have to worry about.

Thanks! It turns out that this works better if the game speed is turned down to at least the default setting. I had set it to be much faster because the default walking speed is too slow for my taste. I thought I was on the right track, but thanks again for the confirmation!

...sipping wine....hic....

This episode seems to be kicking my butt, Nicky! I am now to the point where both Moss and Head are at the non-functioning elevator (on their respective levels),
Spoiler: ShowHide
and Hand has just touched a button that apparently made power go across a broken conduit. I've tried having Moss turn on and off the fuse near the organism, and Hand doing the same with the power (?) button, and checking to see if Head or Moss can do anything more. So far I haven't found anything else they can do, and Hand can't get back down the elevator shaft to try other things. Oh, and Moss needs a key card (which I have no idea where it is) for a panel near all the pretty blinking lights.
What is a next step?

Am playing this on my tablet, and seems it's too slow to get pass the asteroids. :(
Are they random or is there a pattern I can follow?

In case there are more than one scene with asteroids, it's the one with head right at the start... If there's a pattern then I'll keep trying to get past this... unless there's a cheat to get past? ;)
I seem to have figured the first pattern: down, up, middle... and then crash... :P

To be fairs, I don't play it that much and my tablet crashes often, which makes it harder to play it.

The Visitor 3 walkthrough
Spoiler: ShowHide

Go to your room and click on the computer, and look at Miss Universe.
Go talk to Slug and choose the bottom option for the dialog exit.
Go right and talk to Head. Get him to go to your room and fix the computer.
Go to your room and speak with Head, we need a USB cable.
Go to the droid room and click the laser button twice. Once you click it a second time, quickly walk left and switch to your interact icon and grab the USB CABLE on the cart.(Timing puzzle)
Go back to your room and give Head the USB CABLE. Go to the hallway outside of the droid room and get the USB CABLE from Head.
Go to the droid room and return the cable to him. Go back to see Slug, we found the ship.
**Control Head on top of the ship and work your way to the right. Avoid the asteroids and use the terminal. Moving up and down while working your way across should get you there without a problem.
**Go to the escape pod room and interact with the escape pod.

Controlling Leech larson

**Control Leech Larson. Go right and talk to the droid. Go down and take THE JAR and the BROKEN PIPE.
Go to our cell and use the BROKEN PIPE on the left clamp. Take CLAMP.
Combine the CLAMP and BROKEN PIPE to get..PIPE WITH CLAMP.
Use the PIPE WITH CLAMP on the droid to seal the pipe.
Use the PIPE WITH CLAMP on the pipe connection and use the generators switch.
Go all the way left and use the wall panel near your cell.
Use the computer and click C3. Go to the freezer room and take the HUMAN FINGER.
Go back to the computer and click C1. Go to the sharpener room and use the HUMAN FINGER on the sharpener. Get POINTY FINGER.
Go back to the computer and click C2. Use the POINTY FINGER on the metal box and get the WRENCH.
Go see Sly and take the CREATURE on the floor.
Use the Wrench on the floor plate near the generator. We need to loosen the bolts.
Use the JAR on the asteroid goo, and get JAR WITH GOO.
Use the JAR WITH GOO on the floor plate. Now use the WRENCH on the floor plate.
Go to the elevator room and use the CREATURE on the leaking pipe. Now press the button for the cleaning bot.
**Control the bot and go left...Lost signal. Go down and drive over the grate on the floor. Get BATTERIES. Return back to the small door.
**Control Leech Larson and open the chute on the wall. Take the BATTERIES.
Use the BATTERIES on the CONTROLLER. Get WORKING CONTROLLER. Go left and use the CONTROLLER on the door sensor to gain access to the Command Center.

**Control Moss and go near the door sensor. Head squeezes through.
**Control Head. Go left and get attacked by the creature. Go see Moss and TALK to him through the door. The creature jumps onto Moss.
<You can now switch between the two characters>
**Control Head and go all the way left. We need to use the terminals to open the door for Moss.
Use the two terminals to find a connection. There is one combination of the two that will have 5 green lights in a row.
The terminal on the right should be 2 and 5
The terminal in the left room should be 1,3 and 4. The connection will be made and the door opens for Moss.
**Control Moss and go in the room that opened. Stay there.
**Control Head and go in the open vent near the terminal. See the Agents Head and go up in the elevator shaft.
Head needs to get into the elevator but the grate is blocking the way. Go up and interact with the sensor.
Go down into the elevator and press the button. Did I hear a creature? Go back to where the creature was and go right.
**Control Moss and TALK to the door. Head says the recording of Commander Moss saying his name. The door opens and you talk to the Medical droid.

The Visitor 3 walkthrough

This is the reason I avoid this sub-forum! I finished V3 all by myself  (nod) then intentionally neglected it so I can get back to it with 20% memory available! You just postponed my projects for tonight! Thanks!

Why AnasAbdin? It's hidden. you don't need to look it over. I have no intention of doing that, even if that means I'll be "stuck" in it for another 2 years! I get no enjoyment of just running through the story, I enjoy discovering and solving stuff on my own, that's what gives me pleasure when playing Adventure games... otherwise I might was well read/play a book. I didn't mean anything negative  :)
Maybe you're stronger that me in fighting the urge to check for a solution. I honestly avoid this sub forum and the completed games announcements as well when a good game is released and I'm playing it. That's my opinion  :)

When V3 was released, I avoided the entire AGS forums  (laugh)

Go right and talk to Head. Get him to go to your room and fix the computer.
Go to your room and speak with Head, we need a USB cable.
Go to the droid room and click the laser button twice. Once you click it a second time, quickly walk left and switch to your interact icon and grab the USB CABLE on the cart.(Timing puzzle)
Go back to your room and give Head the USB CABLE. Go to the hallway outside of the droid room and get the USB CABLE from Head.
Go to the droid room and return the cable to him. Go back to see Slug, we found the ship.

Thanks and please make more walkthroughs for the free games especially for the players who are not so good in the English language
so I (we) can better understand the game with a wt :)

You're welcome. This is tricky territory. Having a walkthrough available can tempt a player into using it when some deep thought can do the same. After all, puzzles are a huge part of most adventure games. I'm a firm believer that the player is supposed to go through some pain when trying to figure out puzzles. On the other hand, I would hate to know that a player didn't finish the game because they gave up.

Obviously the perfect adventure game would have players get stuck at times, but not for too long. I think it's important for the player to also beat the game in a short amount of time so that they can stay within the game world and story.

Anyways, happy adventuring, and don't ever abuse a walkthrough!

OF course you won't get what the problem is because there is no problem  ;-D
I don't know why my comment was interpreted this way  :-[ I was only trying to say that I really love V3 so much I didn't want to listen to any word about it until I finish it back then. After finishing the game, I forced myself not to play it again for along time until most of the puzzles fade away from my memory in order to get to experience the fun again  ;-D which I did last night, and got stuck but STILL not gonna check the walkthru  :P

Unless I made an easter egg that I'm not aware of, there shouldn't be a car in this game because it takes place on a space ship. I imagine you must be playing part 1 or part 2?

There is a walkthrough for all three games in their hints and tips threads. On the game page for each game you will find a link leading to the games hints and tips thread.
