Hey guys, sorry for delay. I'll start a new thread soon. I'd had a computer crash and forgot I entered this when I was busy reinstalling everything, so sorry.

Critics' Lounge / Re: A (gothsy?) song?

Not really Gothy. Sounds more New Wave/Industrial, kinda reminds me of the Bloodlines soundtrack. Which is a good thing. Pretty neat song, a bit repetitive, but mostly because there is no vocal melody to draw interest.

General Discussion / Polybius
Sat 02/02/2008 04:52:27
Hey everyone,
Just wondering if any of you had heard the Polybius story? Apparently it was an Arcade Game of limited release, with subliminal messaging which led to night terrors, amnesia and in some cases suicide. Apparently it was made by the CIA and was used to experiment with sensory deprivation.
You can read more here: http://www.sinnesloschen.com/1.php
And here: http://www.freewebs.com/polybiustheory/
Had you heard this story before? What are you thoughts? Do you believe or not?
Just thought it all rather intriguing.

General Discussion / Re: Heath Ledger is dead.

There's now a baptist church who are going to picket his funeral. They have stated that he was punished by god for appearing in Brokeback Mountain. Those cooky christians, I never tire of their antics :(

They will Darth, and it'll become the biggest seller of the year. Some could say that's a cynical view, but it's how Hollywood will use it.

He was found yesterday in his apartment with a bottle of sleeping pills, cops aren't ruling out suicide or accidental overdose.

General Discussion / Re: What's your game?
Sun 30/12/2007 11:59:51
I have a few. About once a year I play Fallout and Fallout 2, I just love the look of those games and all the stories, so psyched for the new one, hopefully I'll want to play it every year as well. Ultima 7 parts 1 and 2 come out every year as well. There is other games that I'll continue to replay, but these are the ones I never get tired of, and play again and again every year.

This'll be good, because I'm in it.... oh and I hear Grundy makes a decent game, but that's probably just a rumor.

New boots I got for 4 bucks at the op shop! They are awesome.

My favorite books are in no particular order
1. The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker. I love that story, I've read it quite a few times. Barker is a great writer and I just love the character of Frank. Plus Pinhead kicks ass.
2. Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas by Dr Hunter S Thompson. I've read the book so many times it's ridiculous, and each time it just gets better, I think it may be part of the reason I'm studying journalism next year.
3. Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk. First book of his I read was Fight Club which is great, but I think Haunted is a much stronger work.
4. American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis. I think this is great, it was the first book to get me into this writer, it is far greater than the movie, and that movie was great :) Lunar Park and The Informants are other books by Ellis you should read.

I never read the dates and I got all excited. I loved the game, and the original short story. Bah, stupid forum grave diggers!

I tried again, this time paying more attention to the shapes, and using a more natural palette, what do you guys think?

Well what I'm looking for is help with shadowing and colours. I'm having intense difficulty with those two, I started intending it to be realistic, but somehow it started heading in the wrong direction and I decided to go with it, but what I'd really like to do is head back in a more realistic direction. As for the simplistic linework, very much the same reason, I couldn't get the nipples to look decent, and decided I could achieve it better with a more simplistic linework and block coloring. Anyway, this is the reference image,

All help is appreciated. And apologies for the delay, I've not been home for 5 days.

--edit: sorry SSH

Hey guys,
Going for a cartoon-ish sort of look, hence the flatness of colors, but I still think I'm shading quite shittily. This is based off a reference photo, and shading is where shading should be, I just don't think I shade that well, mostly just relying on burn and dodge, as I'm not sure on how to do it painting wise. Any tips would help, also if anything you see is glaringly wrong please inform me :)

Cheers,
Cameron
ps. did this on my tablet if you're wondering.
