I'm about an hour south of melbourne. And boy, you really should... avoid it. Not much goes on. Unless you like knife crime?

Dragging this thread up a bit, but thought it better to put a reply in than start a new thread.
Just letting you guys know we've got 3 new tracks up, we've been gigging quite a bit, so all this stuff is crowd tested and approved.
I'm quite pleased with our progress and our crowds are getting larger, so things seem to be well.
I hope you all have a listen and enjoy it.

I've been a member since 03, I was 14 then and my quality of post shows it. I don't post that much anymore, and I still see myself as a newbie as a lot of the members that were senior members then are still here now.
I still have this website as my homepage on firefox have this website as my homepage on firefox even though I average about 2-3 posts a month, and check it daily. It's just that I often don't have much to say.
A lot of threads are on here, I don't have an opinion on everything :P

Here I am rehearsing with my band. Minus the drummer who is out of frame. I'm on the right.
And this picture is a little big, and mostly article, but I'll link it because I feel proud. In the tiny picture I'm on the far left.

It's illegal in most of the world. Decriminalized in a few places though. And for me thats a least a step in the right direction.

The laws are a little silly though, because there are people who will try it a few times, and might get busted, and that will be a blemish on their history when it comes to jobs and the like.

Only recently a friend of mine got busted for 2 grams, and now has to pay for a whole stack of court fees and if he's found guilty he'll have that mark on him for life. And he's only 18.
Sure, if you cant do the time, don't do the crime and all that, but to have a criminal record for a minuscule amount of a pretty widely accepted drug seems a bit harsh.

Personally I'm all for the legalization of marijuana. I think it would be much better to sell and tax it, it would make sense economically. Also, it costs the police a lot of money to continually bust pot dealers, or even those who just have their stash for personal use, surely it would be better to direct these funds to something much more harmful like heroin or ice?

As a side note, despite it's illegality I've found that marijuana use is more socially acceptable than cigarettes or even getting really hammered. Just something odd I've noticed. And shouldn't the law reflect the opinion of society at large? It used to be illegal for women and black people to vote, and that changed because of the populous opinion on right and wrong, due to campaigning and expanded knowledge, among other things.

A lot of people crusade now for the legalization of marijuana, and a lot more people are more educated on its effects, health benefits, and also the not so healthy side of it. It may be complete conjecture, but I think within 10 years this argument will seem as silly as looking back at early prohibition.

Are you kidding me? Natural Born Killers is a fantastic movie, the ending is brilliant! Pah! Who watches half a movie.
I agree with Chicky. Natural Born Killers is great, one of the few Stone films I like. He's generally a twat but this film was aces.

I'm glad people like it. I know the mix isnt ideal, but it's our first demo. And it was only a demo, we didnt studio record this, so we're kinda working with more raw material :P but the mix is constantly being revised.
It's also being mixed by another person outside of the band, who we've known for a while and recorded our previous bands stuff with. So we'll see how that turns out.
And I can't say I'm unhappy with Radiohead comparisons :D

Hey guys,
While back I posted a link to my old band, and I got some good comments about it, which I really appreciated. So anyway, that band is done for, and we've started a new one by the name of The Universal, only one song is up at the moment, and it's a much different sound to the old band.
Anyway, hoping you could give it a listen, let me know what you think, or just enjoy listening to it.

My votes go to Be Quiet & Shprtiz 2000. Both stories managed to draw me into their world, and I was driven to finish reading and see how it ends.
So yeah, they be my votes.

I'm in like Flynn with a 12 year old on a sail boat.
Indeed sir I am in, and you have my email already.

The Outer Limits? Only type thing I can think of.

Well  8) I do what I can. Pretty sure getting a tattoo made me instantly buffed out and muscly.

Not me entirely, but a new addition to me. Pretty darn pleased.

And no... not the muppet.

Thanks for the comments I'm glad you like them. Jaz II was actually a natural moment in between shots, and a lucky get.

It was a bit hard to check every photo, because it was a freaking hot Australian summer day, and we shot quickly to avoid sunburn or heatstroke, and just burned through a few memory cards to review later in the day.

They do have a few minor edits in saturation and brightness, but I'm still very much learning how to use those properly, so thanks for the tips :)

Cheers

Didn't think it really fit in Crits Lounge, it's not AGS related or anything, but I have quite a few photos on my deviantart now that I'm quite proud of, I think I'm improving fairly steadily,  and I was wondering what you all thought.
You'll need to be a member of deviantart to see the pictures as they contain nudity, but if anyone has any comments or thoughts or loves/hates it, I would like to hear it.
  So yeah.
You can see my gallery here! Fancy that!

I actually keep a decent track of my dreams and felt this one lent itself to a short story. Very short. So anyway. Hope you enjoy it
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We knew it was coming. We thought it unbelievable, but we’d been told it was true. The end of the world was coming. In approximately 5 days. That’s what they told us. That was 4 days ago.

Many tourists and long term residents made it their mission to return home. China, Africa, whatever they chose to call home. People went out of their way to be with family and friends.

But there were those of us that didn’t. We’d chosen to live each day as if it were our last, and finally that would ring true.

We first heard whispers of the party about 2 days ago. We decided to chase up all leads and finally found out the whole story.

Turns out that when the end of the world comes, no one cares about money, so a few people had managed to organise a huge party with a giant sound system, at the top of this hill out in the middle of nowhere.

Masses of generators and speakers littered the area. Drugs passed around like Woodstock, but with less hope. We wanted to drain these moments of every bit of enjoyment we could. Or perhaps we just wanted to run away form it all.

At some point I noticed the music started to die. I looked around and saw everyone had stopped. They were staring in one direction, behind me. I turned and saw what had captivated their attention.

A wall of flame, burning across the land with such speed, and such might. It seemed unnatural. Giant shadows moved behind it. I felt my eyes were tricking me.

The wall passed over us all within seconds, and in my final moment I saw what had been behind the flames. I wish to god I hadn’t.

I have a few old records. I've got a few good ones but my favorite purchase is the Eraserhead soundtrack which I picked up for a dollar. Man it's creepy.
