 The thing I'd want to do with this, is make a game where you can't complete a certain puzzle without having a second player.

Directly in game:

The goal is - Silhouette Man must survive long enough to reach the next town. However he is hindered by an injured leg, and wild weather patterns that hinder his progress. You must take shelter, or you will burn, or freeze. When the temperature is neutralized, you must either find a weapon from the ground, or hide from the mutated animals, and humans.

As of now, its planned that you can't kill a specific type of enemy. Its because of their evolution, I'll go into that later. Some enemies you don't even know if they are real, or just a realistic dream.

Well the original version  of the story went a bit like this: A group of rogue cyborgs break out of a military facility, take them hostage, and said that they would leave them alone, if they let them live somewhere else. Of coarse the military wouldn't let this happen, so Richard the chief scientist who once rebelled against the government helps them steal a few ships.

Eventually in order to find a suitable world, they traveled different star systems, and eventually found a planet. However it was not like Earth. But it was the most Earth like planet thus far. It had a day temperature of 150, a night temperature of -50 depending on which side of the world your on.

After the terraforming years, the second generation was never taught about their past. And the whole issue didn't come up, until the original Earth humans invaded Earth II. This sparked a series of human cyborg wars that ended with the cyborgs losing, and the few that survived migrated underground to survive the radiation.

Thats the original version. But slowly the story evolved to where I went, "And what before, and what about before that."

So I made the setting on Earth a bit like this: After world war III, the Earth man had to live in glass domes to protect themselves from the radiation outside. This world is separated by a metal plate that keeps those who live in the trash dump, is the coal powered trash dump. Its this slave class that keeps the upper city running on their electricity.

The world above is almost like a different universe, because the laws there are almost the total opposite. The world above is a bit like the US with constitutional law. The world below has Anti-constitutional law, or Nightmare Earth.

The world below has lately been experiencing some instability, because of a proxy gang who have declared war on their lively hood. But this creates the issue, that the mere presence of this gang contradicts this law of equal force. But then this conflict wouldn't happen, if they weren't financed by an agency above.

Then after the gang wars have started, the Neo American government engages in an ethnic cleansing of both gangs. It turns out that the government has created the instability so that its easier for them to invade. Their aim of coarse to unite both worlds into one political system. Neo Tokyo, Neo China, Neo Russia, and Neo Germany have already fallen victim to this. Neo Lower America is the only free country left in the world.

The main story begins in the middle of the ethnic cleansing post WWIII. Richard must save Malcolm from bleeding to death after giving him first aid. However the hospital is blown up, and destroying much of that part of the city. So Richard and Malcolm barely surviving must find an underground, or black market doctor.

I think I'm making the backstory more complicated then I need to. Its just a point and click survival horror post EarthII wars.

I'm still working out the kinks a little bit, but instead of giving all the plot details about my story, I'll word it as sort of a summary:

The law states that for everyone skill, there must be an equal but opposite skill. This maintains balance and prevent one side from beating the other, keeping the battle in stalemate. De Facto Peace. However the law also states that to be a suitable antangonist, you must have a force thats at least double the main heroes side. If one law is true, then the other must be false. You can't have contradictory laws in the legal system, because one cancels out the other.

Unless of coarse, there are two legal systems. One for those that live below the plate, and one that serves the ones that live above the plate. But there wouldnt be this instability below the plate, unless they were being financed by those below the plate. A large portion of the story takes place below the plate, where the young bloods are the primary victims of a proxy group thats being helped through more organized crime like the mafia.

I'm just wondering, is my story being run on bad logic. Other than of coarse I know de jure that there arent actually two legal systems, its more de facto two legal systems. I mean I know sometimes there are strange laws.

For a while it was, but I've really became disenchanted with the engine, and will most likely move over to Adventure Game Studio. Just certain things. Adventure Game Studio has been pretty consistent over the years.

Lush Beneath A Shadowed Sun - A cyberpunk/post apocalyptic thriller - Chapter One

Details:

A young man known only as silhouette, is driving along a burnt forest road. He sees a blond girl in a white night gown walk across the road. He swerves, crashes, then blackout. He wakes up starring into a white light, and then reptilian doctors are starring into his face.

The doctors try to draw a black line on his forehead, but his eyes snap open. Beyond the white void, the blond girl is holding her bloody hands in her face, and she's crying. He tries to get close, but she disappears. He climbs walks for a mile out of the crator, and then clings to the edge. He sees a burnt forest, and a storm erupts. The rain burns through his shirt. He must find a cave as soon as possible.

Positions Available:

Dialogue - I need a dialogue assistant, as I need to know realistic speech patterns, and what people like that relate to.
Sprites - I need some help, unless shading isn't needed.
Scripting Assistant - (The programming aspect, the actual story is complete.) I need help putting key aspects, like rain that burns your skin, heat as high as 150 by day, and cold as cold as -50 by night.
Translator - (I'll need a translator into German, at least until I learn German myself.)
Plugin Assistant - I need help setting plugins.
Deadline assistant

This is a multi issue project, so I might have to set 12 separate deadlines. The first game I want done by late fall. (Assuming that the world electric grid doesn't go down before then.)

Uh, I hope this fullfills the requirements.O_o

I guess I should of introduced myself before posting the recruit a team thread.V_V

Anyway, I'm a dark science fiction writer that used to develop for an rpg engine, however I've found that I prefer point and click games now for whatever reason. I might put my thread up later, after I get done porting the project.

I went ahead and posted the services I need to get my game going, however I also have services to offer. However I'll mention up front I can't write fantasy, light or dark. I will write you a sci fi story for a video game as long as the game takes place within the last ten years, or no more than 1566 years in the future. My short stories from before are:

And then I have a comic script for an upcoming graphic novel called: Ajalla The Psycho-Telepath (This story is an exception for me, as it takes place from 1717 to 2017.)

I will write up to 3000 words, but not less than 1000 words. When you hook up, I'll give you an idea of what I want outlined from you.^_-

If I may, there are thing I'm having some difficulty with. Particularly when it comes to character out. I already got a panelist for the graphic novel version. The story is as follows:

Silhouette Man is driving along a burnt forest road for what felt like an hour. The road landscape was like a lonely dying bush in the desert. In a split second, he was driving and then a blond girl in a white night gown walked across the road. He swerves off the road into crator.

Boom! And then blackout.

He waks up with his body tied up to a surgeons table, wrapped up with duct tape. A bright light shines in his face, and grows dimmer. He could see a reptilian skinned doctor smiling at him with his yellow colored black slitted eyes. He is grabbed by the other surgeons, and then held down while the chief was drawing a black line across my forehead.

And then his snapped open, and was lying on the cratored ground starring into the sun. He got up and saw a white void, and then saw a blond girl standing in front of him, with her back to him. She had her palms in her face, and was crying. And then he saw blond on her hands. He tries to walk to her, but she dissapeared.

He climbs out of the crator, and then walks into the forest. A deer walking along the forest trail, was starring at him. And then a storm erupted. The rain burned through his shirt. He needs to find the nearest cave....

Characters

Silhouette Man - has a surprising amount of knowledge about surviving out in the wild, and eating things one would not normally expect a man to eat. He was sent here on a rescue mission to save an MK731 operator.

Samantha - Hesitant to get to know Silhouette Man, as evidenced by the fact that she keeps pushing him off when he tries to take her somewhere save so the parasites wont get her.

Parasitic Girl - Due to living in near total darkness in the caves, she crawls around with her feelers and sonar to move around. She has some difficulty with speech.

The Blond Girl - Wears a white nightgown, with blood all over it. The fact that she always has blondy hands covering her eyes before she disappears for a time is as much as we know right now.

  I pmed you, about some confusion in where the game is based. France at the time used the guillotine, while germany still had the headmans block.

    Luckily I found an easy solution. Its still impractical though. So it would be better, to just take it in for repairs.

    Its a Gateway Laptop. Not sure about the drivers.

  I was wondering knows how to correct this error I got? For some reason, when I press  e on the regular keyboard, it ends up being e3. Example

   It doesn't to do it for the other letters. I tried pressing fn + scroll. It didnt seem to do anything.

    I remember back when I use to fence with the sabre (Still finding a school for it now.) I remember that with a sabre, you could only hit the torso. Hope that helps.

     I'm going to dare to be a little different here. Since I have more practice in ruby coding, perhaps maybe have a switch that turns on the ruby coding option?
