I'm trying to make a first person game where the player has a 360(ish) degree view of the room. I want to keep the room count down, and making each view a different view seems a bit much. Is there a way i could use a wraparound background where the player could use the mouse to move his view of the area?

Okay, here I am asking yet another question that is probably known by just about everyone (I'm a newb. I admit it).

I'm having an object (a taxi cab, specifically) appear after certain criteria are met. The problem is that the character can walk through the object.

Any help will be much obliged.

okay, it worked that time. I don't know why or what the problem was the other time. go figure.

See, I tried that. the game refused to accept it and I don't understand why.

So, I'm trying ot make it so a character and all objects in a room vanish. I figure I'd use transparency to make the character just not be there, but I'm still new (obviously) and don't understand.
So I thought I'd read up on transparency, but the entry on it in the Character functions section wasn't exactly clear. Also, I couldn't find info on it in the FAQs (perhaps I was merely looking in the wrong place?).
In otherwords, any input on the subject and what I'm trying would be nice.

Beginners' Technical Questions / Title Screens

Maybe I missed this, or I'm incredibly thick (in which case feel free to say so. I won't be offended), but what's the best way to make a title screen. I may be asking an opinion, I realize, but hey, the best people to ask opinions from are those who have been thorugh the same problems you have.

Okay, here's something I can't figure out. I have a room with a stream going left-right across the screen. I want to make it so that when the character enters the stream, they are only shown from their knees on up. The problem is that using walk-behinds means the person will seem to sink as they head to the other side and suddenly appear when they walk to the other shore. Any thoughts on sollutions?

I'm trying to make it so a character appears after a ceartain event, so I made him completely transparent until said event happens. The problem is that he's still clickable, even when he's "not there."

Am i missing somthing? Help would be much obliged.

I'm trying to make a first-person style game similar to old games like De'Ja Vu or Shadow Gate. Because of this, I don't need the walk icon, since all movement will be made with the Use Icon or items. So is it possible to remove the "Walk to" icon from the list of action icons?
