I'm sorry, but if I wanted to play such a game, I'd use FreeSCI. Honestly. No need to waste time and efforts. It's the same, no, it's even worse, because these particular vector graphics were made for 320x200. My advice - optimize it. Even though it's re-rendered in 640x400, it's still blocky and doesn't make any sense. Load Photoshop up, do some pixel-editing. Or just make plain SQ3 Point and Click a la Larry 2 remake, without any graphical changes. Because it's stupid to do only the half of the job.

Sorry, we're damn busy with real life already to slow down SQ3 remake production like this. But we'll certainly release some media to keep you interested. ;)

No, it's not AGS, and that's the reason I didn't post @ Games in Production. It uses a much more flexible and modern engine called Wintermute (www.dead-code.org), which even has an experimental support for 3D models which our team will use.

This is going to be a hi-res (800x600) 3D (3D character and object models) Space Quest III remake, featuring enhanced music and plot.

This thread was started mainly to introduce the new project to the ones who followed the old one @ Games in Production. :)

That's great! How far is the game from completion?
Since we haven't gathered a full working team (we're searching for a 3D animator), there is even no talk about completion. We are on sketching stage - but we are working hard.

JUST KIDDING, BUDDY!!!

Thanks to Robin Ferreira and his brilliant hosting and site design, we are online to kick ass! Hybrid Studios, formerly known as SQ3VGA team, with yours truly as a leader and art director, is starting to work on a brilliant, hires, 3D Space Quest III Remake! Okay guys, bye and see you at the site!

What?

OOH, my bad. I forgot to give ya all the link, silly me!

Bookmark it guys, you'll have to visit it again and again and again!

Phew. Finally we can rest. For a month or two.
That was a joke, of course, because as we speak, our brilliant artist (me) is doing work to fill the SQ3 media page! (oh, and create the actual game too)

I'm explaining by an edit.

See? The houses' colors are less saturated, I've added a car and some green stuff(Ii mean a tree and some grass.), and made windows more 'glass'-ish.

Thanks Evil and deltamatrix, I'll try to make an edit according to your advice.

The bugfixed version.

QuoteThe only thing bothering me apart from a flat lookin face is that rogers nose looks...artificial...prosetic.
It's Mark Crowe's error, and all I can do is reworking existing EGA screens, so I can't help it. Sorry.
QuoteWhen you make this remake, please please please add some kind of text line for hotspots or even just have the cursor change color when you move it over a hotspot.
Suggestions like this please go to my forums:

QuoteI like what you did having it so that part is brown and another blonde
Roger will be blonde in the game. It's just the lights that are messing colours up  :P
