"If you put that in dozens of objects and hotspot interactions and should decide to use some other cursor (or change the controls in some other way)"

Except I don't really know how to do that. Programming isn't really my expertise. I'm more of an animation, designer, and story writer kinda guy. I can do the basic AGS commands just fine, but I don't really know how to do the actual SCRIPTING scripting, if you get what I mean.

mouse.Mode=eModeInteract; // optional: cursor returns to this

That's what I needed. I knew there was some super simple scripting command I was missing. :P Thanks for the help. :)

So I'm not sure if this question falls under the beginners, or advanced category. I've only recently started getting back into this program, so I'm a bit of a noob at AGS. I can't imagine this question having a very complicated answer, so here goes. :P

The game I'm working on only uses one mouse cursor, as apposed to multiple cursors like most AGS games use. So the ability to switch between cursors has been disabled. Thing is, this creates a bit of a problem in regards to inventory items. While the game still switches to the inventory item that I want to use when I click on it, there is still no means of switching back to the default cursor, creating an issue where your cursor is stuck on which ever item you selected. I want to know if there's some command I'm missing that I could use to fix this problem, where after the player uses the inventory item on something, it switches the cursor back to the default cursor. That's pretty much it. Hope someone out there has a solution. :)

I see this recruitment thread is new, since I've never seen this section of the forums before. That said, I'll go ahead, and explain what I need here as well. I am making an adventure game called "Stickman: To the Rescue" The story is about a stick figure named Rolph Stickowits, (Ha! Get it? XD) who's dream is to become a super hero. Rolph is the only stick figure in the entire. game (besides his parents) I know. Weird plot.  ::) So, what do I need to make this comedy adventure game of awesomeness? Well...

I need the following things below:

A Sprite Animator
A Flash Animator for cinematic cutscenes, which will be played with the (PlayVideo(); function (Really excited for that)
And possibly a background artist.

If you want to help out with any of these things, please send me a PM, cause I can't make this game possible without your help. So let me know if you want to help with any of these things.

(GASP) Two posts in one day! It's MADNESS I tell you!!!  :o XD Anyways, I have another question about playing videos in my game. For the most part, the first few scripting commands are strait forward. You type in "PlayVideo" Then the number of the video, then it asks how you want the player to skip the video. So far it looks like this. PlayVideo(1, eVideoSkipAnyKeyOrMouse, But then after that, I run into a problem. It asks for something called an "int flag". I don't understand what this means. What do I type in when it asks for an "int flag"?  :-\

Ok, and how do I set the transparency in the script? Sorry, I'm new at this.  :=

Advanced Technical Forum / Fading text overlay
Fri 30/03/2012 23:25:39
Hey guys. I have a question about text overlays. Now I know how to make an overlay appear and all that jazz. (Thanks to desmings video tutorial.  :=) But what I would like to accomplish is to sort of have the text fade in when the game starts. I want the text to fade in, stay on the screen for a few seconds, and then fade out. How do I do this?

Yeah, so I re-posted my question on here, hoping it would take it to the FIRST page of this thread, instead of the LAST page. It didn't work. Sorry about that.  :-[ But just to summarize my question. I'm going to need an expert on AGS, some sprite animators, background designers, and voice actors. PM me if you want to help out with these things.

Update:

Hey guys! Me again. So I just read Domithan's reply to my post, and apparently my post isn't very well written. Well, it was my very first post, so can you really blame me?  := Anyway, he says I need to give more information on my game. So you know what Domithan? That's what I'm gonna do. Lets see. I might as well start with storyline. The story is about a stick figure named Rolph Stickowits, (Ha! Get it? XD) who's dream is to become a super hero. Rolph is the only stick figure in the entire. game (besides his parents) I know. Weird plot.  ::) Anyway, I think that's all I'll say on the storyline. There's only so much I can say about the plot without completely spoiling something. All the other things he mentioned are voice actor related, but I'm gonna hold off on voice acting related things until the game is more developed. So, I'm ending this post here. Hopefully this one is more informative then the other one. I do got someone to help with AGS, which is awesome, so all I need at the current moment, are Sprite animators, and background artists. That's all for now. See you next time everyone. :)

Hello AGS users. I'm Arthur, and I'm making an Adventure game. However, I'm going to need some help with the program, as in, I'm going to need an AGS expert to help me out. I need someone who knows how to use the program inside and out. I was using Desming's video tutorial, but he stopped making them, and I'm pretty sure he's not going to continue it. So if there is an Adventure Game Studio expert somewhere out there, PLEASE send me a message, and let me know if you can help. As for the progress of the actual game itself, a couple of my friends and I have already come up with some ideas for puzzles, and the entire storyline is pretty much done. We've even got some background music set up. All we need now are some sprite animators, background artists, voice actors, and as I've said earlier, someone to help with AGS. I hope people come on by and help out with the game. I'm really excited about it Anyway, send me a message if you're an expert of AGS, and want to help out. You can even message me if you want to help out with the other things if you want. Anyway, I'm gonna end this post here. See you in the next post.   :)

EDIT: I got someone to help with AGS.
