k. so i tried changing the resolution and i still can't see the whole character or room in the test window. is there a way to expand it? also, the general settings of the room resolution are gray(instead of black and usable) so i can't change them.

Beginners' Technical Questions / Test game size

Whenever I make a room or character that's bigger than 320x200 pixels, the picture doesn't zoom out so you can see it when you test it out. Is there a certain size I have to stick to or can I somehow fix it? 
The pictures in other peoples' games are obviously bigger so do you just skip testing? That's risky if you do...I FEEL STUPID!!!
