The graphics are very good and the dialogue is brilliant!

I love the humour, subtle sarcasm with these small pauses in between makes it so enjoyable.
Great game I know about the music but the humour is the funniest so it doesn't matter.
Please make more games! Maybe episodes like Sam & Max 2?

I like it!
It sounds like older Enslaved/Ulver. The acustic intro could have some chorus or echo added in my opinion to make it feel more floating but it's all up to your vision of the sound. The drums are very well played I like them, they sound a little "in-a-box" to me (especially the snare drum) they may need som EQ to rise the mid frequencies and maybe in the highs too.
The vocals in my opinion would get a wider feel if more reverb is added and more volume.

Looking forward to hear more!

Sorry for the late reply but I cannot get the script to work. I am very thankful for your reply and I wonder if it would be possible for you to send a test-game just to show the function?

Thanks again :D

Hi!

I noticed that Broken Sword 1 has a special fade in/out that makes the highlights fade out last.
It also seem that the colours get saturated (maybe its only the gamma or contrast doing it).
Is it possible to make such a fade in AGS? If it doesn't already...:P

Thanks!:)

Hiya Dreadus!
I really like the story of your game, very interesting. The graphics look great even though I can agree with Farlander about the perspective but the style of the graphics is just lovely!:)

Be sure to post another screenie! I dont want this one locked ;)

Personally I think cellshading can look good but it still isn't the ultimate for a 2D background.
I would rather use 2D animated characters for my (2D) -game but it turned out that this cellshading process saved me many hours of time to make the backgrounds even better etc.
Remember this is only my opinions but to me handdrawn backgrounds and characters appeal to me because of my interests in art, drawing, and it gives me more atmosphere and satisfaction than 3D ever will. Basically because 3D is a differemt way of graphics than 2D.

A game called "Breath of fire IV" (for Playstation) has a great combination of 3D and 2D.
The backgrounds are made in 3D but has handdrawn textures while the characters are 2D computerdrawn, it looks brilliant.

But for me point n' click adventures doesn't need 3D because it doesn't bring any advantages and no atmosphere.

Runaway is an example of cellshading that works ok toghether with the background style, but if you compare the characters to for example Broken Sword, Runaways chars are very stiff and lifeless. The eyes are totally fixed, they almost look blind and their movements are never smooth.

Well to wrap it up I belive there are ways to achive a great look using 3D too but I think it is more suitable for other games than point and clicks.

 Howdy fellow AGSers!

If you didn't know me and my brother A-Hed are making a game called "the Artifact".
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=13480.0

We are looking for a male to do a voice for a welsh dwarf.
Actually the dwarf should speak english but it would be terrific if he had a welsh accent since it is where he lives.

You can find facts, screenshots etc. about "the Artifact" at: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=13480.0

Also if someone is interested at helping us out with some scripting we would be ever so happy :)

Please contact me by sending an e-mail: jonas@xtreem.nu

Cheers!

Hiya Big Brother!

Thats very odd, I tried to download it just now and it worked.

I opened the rar-file with WinRAR (-freeware ;)), maybe it is something strange with the program / version you are using.

The Artifact - demo is now on the "Games main page / demos" if someone is up for some voting or downloadingÃ,  ;)

Lovely ...just lovely!

I just saw that interface at the bottom of the screen. Thats the coolest feature in a long while, the drop func. I mean.
Also very matching graphics and simple layout, great!

WinRAR is also a good one, it can unzip all formats I believe. I think you can get it from download.com.
It's free of course :)

I will make the speed changeable soon, so I hope the update will be implemented in a few days (that depends on my job=time). And yes the demo is longer after the "you get shot" -scene.

I don't understand exacly what you mean with a "try again" -button, is it like an automatic save function?

Hmm Murder on Mississipi I haven't seen that one is it a game or a movie?
I have only played "Tom Cruise for a corpse" a few minutes and that was in -92 when it first came out :)

But I guess we (j-hed & A-hed) are quite inspired by Tintin and also Broken Sword.

Elianto- hehe if you check the earlier posts on this topic you can see that GarageGothic uses Poser 5, just like I ;)

Wow thanks everyone for the lovely feedback!

Darth- the problem why you can't play it is possibly because you tried the winsetup file first, am I right?
The solution is to rename the "artifact-dm.exe"-file to "boat_4jh.exe". Hope that helps :)

Hehe the program I use for the character is the same GarageGothic use ;)

Thanks alot Goldmund. I will update the demo soon so that the options menu works correctly (including speed).

Hehe good thing you found out how to use the notebook Chicken, but for now you can only use it with the kid...I think.
#16
I cannot thank you enough Chicken!

And you have also helped me so much with the game, beta-testing and debugging etc. Thought everyone should know ;)

And sorry Darth it was clumsy of me double post etc. but Opo's screenshots are accurate so I don't see any reason to delete that reply.

Thanks and enjoy!

Updated the demo!

Fixed some sound problems.

Please tell me if some bugs appear.

Hope you like it!

 :)

The playable demo is now here.

Damien, I don't know how many years it will take to finish the whole game hehe to be honest I think you are better off downloading this one.

Or if you have a friend with higherspeed connection maybe he can burn it on cd for ya ;).

Thanks!

This is uncle Einar.

He has an urge to scratch himself, while doing things he love...smoke.

!warning contains nudity!

Well my neighbour doesn't warn for any nudity when he gets out, but for all you Little gals n' guys...I warn thee.

I just have to tell you guys that I get chills down (and up) my spine!

The graphics has a very developed style, totally magnificent.
The music is the best adventuregame-music I have ever heard!
You should put out the soundtrack by itself also.

Great puzzles I loved them.

Something that would be awesome would be speech if possible, then you probably would get tired of me pestering you with fan-posts  ;)
