Question is if this will make any difference from disassembling the game yourself... which it will most likely not,
except some nice commenting,

General Discussion / Re: Wii

My thought on the Wii name is that it was a very good marketing move.

Cos now people is talking about the new nintendo console just because of the name,
what if they had named it the 'Nintendo NG' or some shit, then ppl would not have been
talking so much about it, but just because of the name 'Wii' the console gets so much
attention on the intahnet.

So. Nintendo made a smart move.

Then contact the guy who sold it to you and tell him to give you a motherboard that works :)

you can also try resetting the bios, it might work

Still waiting for my own game 'Trapped' to be released'

well, i had the libxml problem too(error while loading shared libraries: libxml.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
)

Not really looked at it yet, but i'll probably get it to work later...
So, i will report back when it works :)

btw, this program runs on *BSD too?

So i guess i could try it to see if it works on my other NetBSD box ;-)

2.62 binaries don't work with Allegro v. 4.1.6  rpm from your website , nor does compiling it from source rpm.  The problem is libjgmod,  it is not provided with allegro, not provided with the rpms..   I can't find that library anywhere, its site is down. KAPUT!

./ags: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/local/lib/libjgmod.a: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Distribution is Mandrake 9.2

When are you gonna get a proper distro that is NOT bugged and does NOT use RPM's? :-P

Get Debian if you need a dist with a package manager, at least it works.

and yeah!
i hope these binaries will work for me, i'll find that out tomorrow when i get my new game packaged and tested >:D

well, linux is NOT a underused OS, and it does not suck for gaming, i have got most games to work under cedega or natively, some examples for native games are: quake 1, 2, 3,  Doom 1, 2 , 3,  Tribes 1 and 2, RTCW and RTCW ET, the UT series, postal, and that is just a fraction of the natively ported games.

P.S.

Linux has got to be the best OS for fps fans :-D

General Discussion / my last post

Well, from now on, i wont be a part of the ags community anymore, i dont have the time for completing any good games, i only made some silly joke games, i DO have a short game in production, that i may release in time.
I would like to thank CJ for his work on AGS, and EvilTypeGuy for his work on the linux port.
I will still be in touch with some agsers, and i hope to see a-v-o on-line soon :)

So, take care and make some pretty games, i promise to come and have a peek in the games DB every month ;)

Oh, btw, Rich, i hope you will finish Bts some day, even though you had a HDD crash, and RE, please do not close my rain-day account, i am running a quite active forum with OsUltimo there.

Bye! :)

well, i saved the game and tried to test it, and this message appears:

---------------------------
Adventure Game Studio
---------------------------
You must create and save a game first in the AGS Editor before you can use
this engine.

If you have just downloaded AGS, you are probably running the wrong executable.
Run AGSEDIT.EXE to launch the editor.

(Unable to find 'ac2game.dat' in C:\h\ags262beta1\hehu\Compiled)

-----------------------

i tried to save it several times more, and i tried to launch the executable from the compiled folder, but still no luck, it would be nice if someone could help me

*edit*
i got it to work now, reinstalled ags, but i still do not know what caused the problem
