Thanks Thaumaturge, that worked, even if I don't understand the designers' reasoning why...

In regards to the debate about Flame Aura, the difficulty that I have with it is that it seems to do two things that are exact opposites.  When convenient, it acts as a heat cloak, keeping cold out - such as casting it to keep the cold out when you are walking outside.  But, it also acts as a protection from heat!  For example, when combating Muspells.

I had read that flame aura was supposed to work, but it dissipates the ice storm, and I am frozen solid.  I also tried pre-casting it before I open the door, but that made no difference

I thought maybe things weren't working right because I was carrying a frozen flower, so I put that in storage, but that didn't help.

Obviously, I'm doing something completely wrong: when I ask for riddles, the people tell me a riddle, and I always respond that I don't know.

Wings?  Where are they?

Can you even win the archery contest as a sorceress?
I helped myself with a spell, as indicated, but that wasn't enough.

thanks again.  I love this game, but am very fearful that I will eventually be forced to restart as I've messed up too much with the not finding the thieves' guild before locking myself out of it.

I've walked the jarl into the city by force bolting him, but I can take him no farther, as he summons guards if I strike him inside the city.  Am I doing this wrong?

So, if I said the wrong thing when I saw the thief in the night, and now I cannot open the door to the guild, is my game "broken," requiring a reload?
(I figured out to use 6th sense too late, and the password had been changed.)  - I guess I need a mirror to move the troll and wake up the jarl?

How do I get some fish to lure the cat?

This is an amazingly good game!  But I am completely stuck on the not just a slider puzzle... Any more help would be appreciated.  Thanks.
