The thing that was throwing me off was the error was showing me script line highlighting at random locations. Making me think it was my code. Is there a way to not use idle, blinking, or thinking views?
#2
I found it.
It was an invalid idle view.

I've checked all over and I really can't seem to find anything wrong.
It also happens when compiled.
Like I said, the timing of the error is random. But always under 2 minutes approx.

Hi Guys,

I need some help debugging an error I keep getting. The occurrence time is random.
There error is as follows:

An error has occurred. ACI version 3.4.1.15
Error: SetCharacterView: invalid view number (You said 25, max is 3).

I really have no idea why this is happening... The line error is a different location every time. But always the same error.
It even happens if I let the game run and I don't touch anything... just wait.

I'm using the 'Lightweight BASS Template'

Can anyone help?

Hello everyone, I'm new to this community and so far loving AGS!

I come from a web development background and commonly use external files to manage text resources.
I am getting started with AGS and following the tutorials atm, just up to the Hotspot section.
A thought occurred to me, can I prepare all my game's text in some kind of array or object based structure somewhere, then use the trigger eg'look' to use the text at an array position or id?

I hope this makes sense, just trying to get a sense for the workflow and how to best manage the game's resources.

Thank you. Haha well... the game is a '5 Minute Adventure', but no, I did 4 of that style in 2 days. EGA 16 colours are really simple to create though.

Hi everyone, I'm eatseverything from Australia,
I wanted to introduce myself and show a sample of my works in order to catch the eye of a project team using AGS.

BACKGROUND
I'm a highly creative person who is passionate to be part of an indie game. I work full-time as an Interactive Designer, however I am also a Graphic Designer, and have studied a Certificate III in Game Development around the Unity Engine, having created 2 prototypes in C#.
Here is a demo Ivanmore
I also have experience in HTML, CSS and basic JS.
I grew up playing just about every point and click worth mentioning and producing something along the lines of Heroines Quest or a Quest for Glory styled game is on my bucket-list.

I WANT TO BE PART OF A FUNCTIONAL PROJECT TEAM
I would like to be an Artist within a project team who are serious enough / crazy enough to want to finish a game together. I believe my style is quite broad and could suit any Point and Click 2D DOS era game.

I don't mind being part of the story creation, or at least a contributor (I have a few game stories I've worked on).

I would ideally like to work with a creative writer/producer who has a trustworthy programmer. We could definitely get something started.

I hope you like my samples, I wish I could have included some sketches.
Please contact me via email as I will be notified straight away, your welcome to leave a comment if its not urgent :)
