I just started my adventure with Perfect Tides. Like, literally. (I brought home the groceries) But I wanted to stop and say I can tell a lot of hard work was put into this game! I really enjoy the graphics and characters. I also enjoy the really casual dialogue. It's very funny, but it feels REAL. Like, when Mara is arguing with the brother it felt like real siblings going at it. I look forward to the rest of the game. Thank you for making it!

I'm glad everyone is having an ok time with Windows 11. As long as it can run my adventure games, AGS, and other engines then I'm fine to upgrade!

My wife has Windows 11 on her PC and she pretty much is loving it. My PC is still running Windows 10. I'm probably going to wait awhile, too. Bugs, updates, all that jazz. ;-D

Fantastic game! I'm still working my way through it. I'm a bit stuck at the moment but I'll keep on trying! Congrats!  8-)

In the room editor, add the "first time player enters room" event. Then put the command in the function AGS created for you.

Oh my gosh, thank you! That was it! I forgot completely, it's been awhile since I used AGS. hahaha! :cheesy:

Thanks again!

I'm not a particularly good coder but I would have thought putting it as the first item in function room_AfterFadeIn() should do the trick?

I thought it might be something like that. I'll have to check. Thanks!

Hi,

I've got a basic of the basic questions if anybody could help.

I am trying to get the player to talk as soon as the room is initialized. I've done this before and I've tried everything but I can't remember. I feel like a dummy but I've tried game_start() with cPlayer.Say("Blah Blah Blah"); and all kinds of events with the line to try to make it happen, but he just won't talk as soon as the room is loaded. I just forget how to do it and I'm getting frustrated so I just figured I'd ask on the forums.

Anybody want to point me to the documentation or give me the scripting line for this? I'll also take my whip lashings for being so silly. :P

Thanks in advance!

I've had an AGS forums account for awhile now, but I mostly lurk and never have posted. But I just wanted to give you some positive love for this project! Looks amazing and it's right up my alley! Great work!
